A Tiny Accident

I wandered through the library, straying a bit away from Madeleine. I placed my hand on a random book and noticed the dust it stained me with. Sadly, I was wearing my suit so I didn't really wanna wipe it on that but I had no choice. After doing so, I picked up the book and blew away the remaining dust on the cover. It was some historical book about cookie history. I already knew all about that so I just put it back. These books aren't really giving me any indication of where we are so I just ventured off farther. Surprisingly, this Library was pretty big. I found a big table with different test tubes and cylinders with liquid in it. Most of it was many different colors but there seemed to be a consistency with the purple potions. A weird steam and aroma came from it so I made sure to keep my distance from it. Soon, Licorice and Clover peered around the corner. I noticed them but didn't say a word. I continued studying the test tubes while the two of them started to do the same. Suddenly, I noticed blueprints on the table. Though, they seemed to be soiled in some sort of liquid substance. I prayed it was just water and carefully picked up the blueprints.
"Smeared.." I muttered. Another dreadful dead end. Though, maybe I could decipher all this- crash! I jumped and quickly looked over to the source. A purple liquid and glass sat at Clover and Licorice's feet. They were both coughing from the puff of steam that blew into their faces. My face turned into a scowl and I huffed. "What did you dolts do?" I asked. Once his coughing fit was over, Licorice turned to me with a slight irritated look.
"It was an accident.." He grumbled.
"Sorry Espresso.." Clover apologized. I calmed myself down and nodded.
"It's fine. Just.. leave it there for now. I don't have the proper equipment to dispose of it at the moment.." I sighed. Clover nodded and Licorice just looked down at the spot. I focused back on the blueprints and put them back on the table. If I work hard enough, maybe I'll be able to figure out what this was. It gives me at least something to do here. Another hour or so of searching went by and I found Madeleine once again. He looked surprised to see me but he smiled shortly afterwards.
"Espresso! I was just about to come find you. We've decided to try and find a place to rest up." Madeleine explained.
"Sounds good." I agreed. Everyone looked pretty much exhausted. Well, with the exception of Madeleine. He has a weird way of being upbeat. Regardless, we walked back to the end of the library. We ended up in the children's section because it had beanbags and comfy chairs. The walls were yellow with purple polka dots. I sat down on a beanbag to finally take a rest. I looked over at Licorice and he still had his same grumpy expression. I simply sighed. "What's wrong now?" I asked. He looked over at me and rolled his eyes.
"Nothing.. just this beanbag is uncomfortable.." He complained.
"Oh, quit your whining. You know none of us would be here if we had a choice."
"I never said that! Stop putting all your blame on me. It's not my fault you're mr. perfect!" Licorice mocked.
"Hey now, calm down you two. Let's just try to get some sleep." Latte sighed. Licorice piped down and sat back in his beanbag chair. Following along, I laid down in my beanbag chair the best I could. Licorice let out a tiny cough and my eyes shifted over to him. We met eyes for a second and he quickly turned away from me. My mouth threatened to frown but I just closed my eyes. It's truly none of my concern anyways..
