Lottie's P.O.V

I will be kind, I will be brave and I will be unstoppable.

I took a deep breath.

"Ja..." I started but then Binah Fae came bursting in.

"Ahhh, so here's where you all are," she says, walking in and taking a seat on the grass in front of me. "Go on, Lottie." She looks at me expectantly.

I risk a glance at Jamie and see my confusion reflected on his face.

"Right," Jamie says (loudly), "Is there anyone else out there hiding in the bushes? Because if there are you can come out now!"

Nothing happens for about 2 seconds and then Lola and Micky Tompkins come out of the bushes, each sucking on a lollipop.

The twins each take a seat on either side of Binah.

We must all look very funny, I thought, what with me and Jamie sitting on the bench and Lola, Micky and Binah sitting on the ground like children. And Ellie, Anastacia and Raphael standing behind them like protective parents.

Ellie clears her throat loudly.

Ooh right.

"Umm guys. So Jamie and I have something to tell you all..." I start.

"Wait. Lottie before you begin you have to promise us that what you are going to say is the truth and nothing but the truth," Ellie looks at me.

"I promise," I say with a sign.

Ellie smiles and then looks at Jamie.

"Fine, I promise," he says, reluctantly.

"Okay, you can continue!" Ellie says sounding suspiciously cheerful.

"Umm yeah so Jamie and I have "strong feelings for each other," I say, squeezing my eyes shut.

There is silence.

What were their reactions?! I so wanted to know but I was...scared.

Be brave, Lottie

What was that? I snap my eyes open. No, I was just dreaming. For a second there I thought I heard my mum.

My eyes land on Ellie. Wonderful Ellie. My best friend. I took in her face. She was...not exactly shocked, more like happy.

My eyes went to Anastacia, she looked sad. Oh, with a pang I remembered the summer's events. Poor Anastacia, she really must be missing Saskia. I tried to give her an understanding smile and to my surprise, she grinned back at me.

I looked at Binah, Raphael and the twins. They all looked happy, not angry or even surprised.

Finally, I let my eyes rest on Jamie. He had a small smirk tugging at the corners of his mouth. He looked up and our eyes met. Before anyone could interrupt us again, I leaned in and pressed my lips against his.
