Lyra's POV

It didn't Jacob long to come back after declaring his leave. I'm surprised Dakota, Seth, and Leah joined him as he explained that Sam has lost his mind and he and the pack will come to kill us all and kidnapped Liam, Lucia, Josie, Irena, Andre, Ivan, and Gia and lie to them about the reason why we have to be killed. This is just....sick to the core.

"Sam's lost the element of surprise, and he doesn't want to take you on outnumbered, so he's not gonna come at you head on. He's got the place surrounded and he'll wait for his opportunity." Jacob explained.

"Why would he want to do that?!" Xenia snarled as I can sense her dragon side screaming for release.

"We won't get through without a fight." Natalia explained. "The wolves aren't going to let this slide. I can try to talk to Charlie if he can get them to stop since it could involve the witch council and the Embassies from our home countries."

"No fights. We won't be the ones to break the treaty." Carlisle spoke up.

"The treaty is void, at least in Sam's mind." Jacob added.

"Not in ours." Esme sighed.

"Carlisle, no one's hunted for weeks." Emmett reminded him.

"The least we can do is to make a protective ring of fire around the house." Bianca suggested. "Lyra and I have been practicing it and if you need to hunt, we can extend it to let you do so. It would be taken down when we give birth."

"We'll make do. You've done us a great service, Jacob." Carlisle thanked the young wolf. "Thank you."

Xenia slammed a glass on the ground and that's when I saw those slits in those yellow eyes.

"Xenia, walk it off. Now!" Natalia told her.

"Fine!" She storms off, leaving everyone in shock.

"I never suspect her to be pissed but what's with those eyes?" Jasper asked.

"She has a whole another side that you probably would see one day but right now.....don't go near her." Natalia warned them which they nodded.

"It look more of the eyes of a dragon." Angela spoke before quickly saying, "I read books about them before, okay!"

"Calm down, Angie. Not calling you out but nice to have someone like you to see it before..." She nod her head at Carlisle, who still looks shock at Xenia's strange behavior.

We didn't even broke the treaty but Bianca and I set up the ring of fire for protection as the Cullens go out to hunt.

I hope this works out as long as it can. And also, Dakota has imprinted on Ivan so she'll do whatever it takes to protect him and his cousins.

OUTSIDE

THIRD PERSON POV

That night, the four wolves are standing outside the Cullen's house.

"I know they're out there somewhere, but I can't hear them anymore. It's so quiet." Jacob spoke up.

"I stopped hearing them too, the second I decided to leave because of Sam's orders. It's nice." Leah spoke.

"You know you can't stay here." He told her.

"But I don't have any place..." Leah replied.

"I can't trust you with the Cullens. You hate them too much. You don't even like me." Jacob points out.

"I don't have to. I just have to follow you." Leah said. "Besides, I don't agree with Sam. I may not like the Cullens but I care about the witches too much. Plus, I know Sam from his thoughts, he never wanted me in the first place."
