Life, it has many different meanings. To me, at least before I found my passion, designing, was just repeating the same dreadful activities over and over again. I hated doing the same motions everyday, hell it was tiring. I spent over a year of my life dealing with the same people, the same town, the same things every day. And, somehow, it all changes within a week. My best-friend, Jack, is in a pretty underground yet popular band, and they are playing Warped Tour this year. I am what is know as their "merch girl", which means I design and sell all of their merch at shows. Which also means, they want me to come on tour with them. I obviously said yes, i'd be crazy to say no. I still can't believe this is actually happening.
"Beau, c'mon! The bus will be here soon!" Jack yelled from downstairs.
We were all piled into his tiny apartment he shared with Chris and Alex, his fellow bandmates. Jack played bass, Chris sang and played guitar, and Alex, she played drums.
"Chill, i'm coming. They aren't even here yet." I bickered as I dragged my bags down the stairs. We were all waiting for the bus to pick us up so we could start driving to the first stop, Dallas, Texas. It was about a 3 hour drive, and this was the first time any of us had actually taken part on a real tour. It will definitely take some getting used to.
"Whatever, I don't want to be late for the first day. All the shirts and wristbands are already on the bus, right?" Jack asked.
"Yeah, all the merch is already on the bus. I thought it'd be a good idea if we sold some CDs as well so those are in there with the rest of the merch." I replied, joining the rest of them on the porch.
"Okay, sounds good."
"Hey guys, that's the bus. Lock up the apartment, it's time to kiss this crusty town goodbye for the summer," Alex smiled, she was the happiest to get out of this hell hole. And I cannot blame her one bit, she's had a hard life here.
•4 hours later•
After a boring drive, we finally arrived in Dallas. We just pulled into the venue that day one is being held at. Immediately after we arrived, a handful of buses parked next to us.
"Looks like we weren't late after all. Who's bus are we next to?" I asked, looking out the window.
"Our left side is Mayday Parade and our right is Falling in Reverse. Should be an interesting tour." Chris said with a smirk, I understand exactly why he is smiling.
Chris loves to party, and Falling in Reverse knows how to party. This should be fun.
"Okay, the gates are open tomorrow at 10, so Beau and Alex, you guys go get the tent set up. Chris and Jack, you guys go find your stage and find out what time we're playing tomorrow. Got it guys?" Our tour manager, Jeff, said to us, making sure we didn't get to caught up in the craziness that we are about to take part in.
Jeff is 35 years old, and he is like a dad to all of us. He loves to party yet he knows when to draw the line.
"Meet us at the tent later guys, i'll text you where it is." I said to the guys before Alex and I headed out to setup.
I can't help but freak out a bit, this is the coolest thing yet it's kinda scary.
