A couple of flights and a taxi ride later, Blue arrived at the Sky Lakes Medical Center. Sky Lakes was a relatively small hospital located in Klamath Falls, Oregon and Blue was pleasantly surprised to see that it was quite nice and welcoming compared to the hospital she had spent the night in. Blue walked up to the registration desk where a nurse was on the phone. She smiled at Blue and finished her call.

"Hi, how can I help you?" asked the nurse.

"Hello, I'm Blue Williams. I'm supposed to be meeting with Melissa Bell about strange occurrences in the hospital."

"Of course, we've been waiting for you," smiled the nurse. "Let me show you to her office."

After having found someone to cover the desk, the nurse led Blue through a series of corridors. Blue noticed once more how welcoming the hospital was; there was a certain warmth to it. Perhaps it was the color scheme which wasn't all white like most hospitals. They passed a corridor that was blocked by a protective plastic sheet hanging from the ceiling.

The nurse noticed that Blue tried to sneak a peek behind the sheet.

"We're doing renovations," explained the nurse.

"How long have they been working on the renovations?" asked Blue.

"Close to a year now. The company we were using had some financial trouble, so they had to stop. They got a few new investors and they're supposed to start again soon I believe."

"How long has it been since they last worked?" asked Blue hoping the information might help her in her search.

"About a month."

The nurse stopped in front of an office, knocked and opened the door after a few seconds.

"Blue Williams is here."

She let Blue enter the office and wished her luck before taking her leave. Melissa stood up from behind her desk with a welcoming smile. Blue shook the hand she had extended.

"Welcome to Sky Lakes, Blue. Thank you for coming!"

Melissa Bell was the head nurse at the hospital, and she was the one who had contacted Blue about the weird things happening around the building. She motioned for Blue to take a seat across the desk.

"Like I've told you over the phone, strange things have been happening here for the last two weeks or so," explained Melissa. "Things have been disappearing from the rooms and some patients claim to have seen a ghostly figure in their rooms at night. We've heightened the security in the hope of finding something, but we've got nothing."

"I see, well I'm going to need to talk to everyone who claims to have seen the figure and I need a list of the objects that have disappeared."

"Of course, I can get that for you," affirmed Melissa.

"Great," answered Blue as she stifled a yawn.

"You must be exhausted from your trip," remarked Melissa. "Why don't I show you to your room and I can get the list you wanted ready for tomorrow morning."

Blue nodded suddenly feeling the exhaustion of the last couple of days weighting heavy on her. Melissa led her to an unoccupied office that the hospital staff had temporarily transformed in a room. The furniture had been pushed to the back of the room and a camping cot had been installed in the middle of the room.

"I hope this is to your liking."

"It's perfect, thank you," answered Blue.

"Good, I'd let you get settled in. If you're hungry, we have a cafeteria on the second floor."
