A Normal Life

Monday morning. 7:30 am. 

"Monday, another week, another shitty week begins"

 Amy stayed in her bed a few minutes longer. This time in a morning should be illegal to be up and especially with the annoying alarm noise on her phone that drove her mad. It's like that though when you do the same thing over and over again for the majority of your life. Things didn't seem to get worse or better, but still it felt like her weeks were becoming a struggle. As April was just about to say screw it and go back to sleep, her girlfriend, Jenny burst in through the bedroom door with a clatter

"Wake up, sleepy head" 

April stared for a moment "Why? what's the point. It's all still there tomorrow" 

Jenny tried to ignore her and smiled "Yeah but it's a big day remember?"

"No, what's going on today?" April replied, reluctantly throwing her bed covers off

Jenny approached her and sat next to her on the bed, making sure to lay her head on April's shoulder "It's the day we go for our first date in months! We saved up remember? and you promised it was going to be special" 

April smiled "Yeah, I guess that's something to look forward to. What did I do to deserve you?"

Jenny laughed then leaned over and brought Aprils head in line with hers "Hey! you deserve the universe and more! one day, hopefully  if I can ever get back up there" 

April looked at her and laughed slightly "You do say the weirdest things sometimes, I do love you"

"I love you too, Weirdo" Jenny and April laughed then gave each other a kiss before Jenny got up and crossed her arms "Now, as much as I want you to stay in that nightie and bed all day, you have work. Up, dressed. I've made breakfast and there is definitely a morning shower in it for you, maybe" 

April smiled as Jenny left the room, April headed for her wardrobe and pulled out her uniform "Here we go" 

8:40am

April had just finished drying her hair and straightening it, when she strolled into the kitchen to say goodbye to Jenny, but Jenny was nowhere to be found

"Jenny, I'm going to work, the Taxi is going to be here any second. Jenny?"

April saw a note on the fridge 'Had to pop out, Love you xx'. April smiled and left the house making sure to lock the door and off she went. 

9:00am

"What's the hold up?" April asked the taxi driver 

"Some sort of hold up down the road, should clear soon, traffic is a bit heavier today. Don't worry love, no extra charge" 

"Sorry, just in a rush for work, my boss is an absolute cow. This time it's not my fault though so, she can get stuffed" April looked at her phone, still no reply from Jenny but the traffic began moving. 

"WHAT THE HELL!" the taxi driver exclaimed "Is there some sort of fair or Sci-Fi thing on?"

"Not as far as I know" April replied "Why anyway?"

"Look at that bloody huge thing down there, mind you he's a brave bugger isn't he, right in the hands of that beast" the taxi driver seemed like a man in his element watching football on a Saturday night

"That's no costume!" April gulped in fear

"Mind you, that blonde girl seems to know what she's doing, and very attractive" the taxi driver seemed to be ignoring the monster and focusing on the attractive blonde in her tight black jeans, her boots holding a laser pistol

"Something tells me your not her type" April said as she blankly stared into the distance. April proceeded to leave the taxi and walk closer to the incident with no emotion. The closer she got, the more the woman looked familiar. Police were everywhere to be seen along the street but that didn't bother April right now. 

The blonde girl shouted "Dad, use your sonic"

The man in the clutches of the beasts large clawed hands, being inched closer to the wide and sharp jaw of this magnificent beast replied "It's in it's stomach" 

The blonde girl shouted back "That's some use isn't it. Don't let a man do a woman's work, aye dad. Get ready to jump" The blonde girl raised her gun and used one shot, which went straight through the monsters right eye, the man in the tie and shirt leaped to the ground and landed with a roll. Once the beast vanished into thin air, the man and girl hugged one another and laughed but, the laughing died down when the blonde girl noticed in the crowd, her girlfriend staring blankly in her direction

"Jenny" April said "What the hell is going on?"

The man looked at both Jenny and April and approached the wide eyed April with a grin "Hello, I'm the Doctor. You must be April. I think you two have a lot to discuss"
