its been a week since alice saw mr.king at mr sabos house
james has tried talking to her a few times but she just left but that hasn't stopped him from trying to get her to like him
he knows theres a limit to how close he can get to her but he just wamts her to open up and possibly be friends
alice opens the door to the class from
she hears people start whispering but she didn't care she just wanted to get school over with
"um may i ask why you're late to class?" james asks while looking at har, cuts and bruises covering face
alice holds up a paper 'woke up late'
"oh ok well your still getting detention"
alice nods her head and james gose back to teaching
alices stares out the window ever since alice was little she got the habit of looking out the window whenever she was inside and the need to run strong
shortly after she was put in the orphanage she met a boy a few years older then her
he was playing outside running around like a wild monkey she thought he was weird and decided to stay away from him until one day she woke up crying un able to breathe as her nightmares came back so she walked outside only to find monkey boy outside
he noticed her and when he realized she was crying he ran to at full speed crashing into her sending them to the ground
after that they became best friends you would never see them apart from each other they would always been running around jumping, climbing everything they could find
he was her first crush, a sad childish crush before the memories could come back she turned away from the window as a paper hits her face
she looked at the small wrecked paper on the floor but before she could open it mr. james calls on her
"ms. parker can you come up and answer this question"
alice looked at the problem on the board and after a quick look she knew the answer but before she could get up a short blue haired girl stood up
"x=5" the girl answered for her
James was feeling sad the girl answered without giving alice a chance
"thats correct but next time let the student i called on answer " he said as he turns back to erase the math problem on the board
the rest of the class went by fast
"remember to study tonight for a small test ill be giving you tomorrow" he said as quickly as possible as the kids were already making there way out the door
well besides alice
james took this time to talk to her
"ms. parker can i talk to you for a moment "
alice nodding as she didn't feel like going home just yet
" can i ask why you have cuts and bruises on your face? "
alice looked down and wrote
thats none of your business sir
james was a little annoyed he didn't get the answer he was looking for but understood so let it go
"maybe but if theres something i can help with let me know, ok?"
alice nodded then walked out the door
on the way home alice hears a small cry but before she can ignore it thinking she was hearing things she heard it again. alice turned and followed the sound to find a small orange cat under a few leaves unable to just leave it she picked it up
once she dose she realizes somethin the small kitten was blind.
deciding to it was best to go to a vet to make sure kitten was ok she changes direction and heads to the nearest vet
"ms.parker the vet will see you know"
alice nodded as she holds the kitten tightly but not enough to hurt it
" we'll do a full check up and give it its needed shots, don't worry the kitty will be ok" the vet says as she sees how worried alice is even tho she was trying not to show weakness
Alice nodded petting the kitten she named orange hope, hope for short.
after the tests and getting her shots the kitten was really to go home with Alice
" she looks healthy considering how you found her saddly shes seems blind. now at the stage it is its possible to fix with surgery but saddly shes to young for it we'll she how it gets and theres a possibility to do the surgery later"
alice is happy to hear theres a chance for the small kitten to see
she nods and shakes the vets hand while holding hope in her other hand then turns to leave
after a quick stop at the pet store alice and hope finally arrive home
alice sets the kitty in the cat bed she bought and set down the other things she bought on the table
as Alice cleaned up she got a text. shocked it was Mr. King
"i got your number from one of the other teachers. i was wondering if you could possible meet up tonight theres something i would like to talk about"
" oh its mr. king.."
"ok"

as alice got to the coffee shop for the first time she got a little nervous. she didn't know why but she didn't really care either
james was at one of the tables waiting for alice tapping his finger in a random pattern something he did when he was unsure or nervous about something. of course he was unsure, he was about to ask a student of his that he barely knows to take care of his child after school

Alice didn't want to be in school and he knew that
he didn't have time to hire someone
it was actually kinda perfect
he heard alot about alice and tho he barely knows her he felt like he could trust her
like somehow he and his daughter can help her become happy again
he could see it in her eyes so hollow
empty so...lifeless
yet like cats eyes shined in a way he couldn't describe
