"Is someone there? Someone? Anyone?" I yell. The school is completely destroyed, and there doesn't seem to be anyone anywhere. I began looking through the lockers, maybe someone's hiding in one. It seems likely. Keeping my calm, I check the lockers, then the classrooms, then the bathrooms. But to no avail. I don't understand, there must be a few people at least. "Hello! If you hear me get your butt out here!" I call again, getting slightly irritated. "Hello...?" A voice! It's a voice! There's a person! Dang I never knew I'd be so excited to see a person, "Where are you!?" I ask.  One of the classroom doors slowly opens, and one of my classmates carefully walks out, a boy who was the 'quite kid', but was pretty well-known at the school. "You're a human. I was scared you were some kind of alien." He says,"Yeah I'm a human. I'm glad to see you alive- uh." Wait, don't know his name. Crap. "Benjamin. My name's Benjamin." "Yeah, I'm glad to see you alive Ben. I can call you Ben right? Good." I really hope there's other people, I don't want to be stuck with one person. Especially not him. "There's two more. They went together to find more people." Ben explains,"Oh, who?" I ask secretly hoping Avery is one of them. What? I could use someone with superpowers. "Marisa and Page." "Isn't Page in a class above us?" I ask,"You ask a lot of questions for somebody who doesn't like people." "Shut up or I'll snap your neck." I hiss. This kid thinks he can say something like that about me? Sure, he's right. But why would I tell him that? I grab his arm and start walking,"Come on, let's find them."
Trudging through the debris, the two of us climb over fallen walls, and avoid broken glass. The entire school collapsed in on itself, it was hard to find where the rooms had been, though somehow we managed. We found the girls in the computer lab. "Oh hey, another survivor." Marisa says,"You think everyone was killed?" Page asks. Marisa sighs, "I don't know. Maybe not, but the chances are high. Just, don't get your hopes up." She doesn't sound too sure. Can't blame her. "Ok, I think we should head to my house. There's a bunker under it, and if we're lucky, it's been untouched." I tell my schoolmates. "Not surprised. You are a 'superhero', or whatever you call yourself to feel better." Ben replies sarcastically. "Feel better about what??" "Oh nothing." "Fcking tell me." "Well, to put it simply, you're an as$hole." He explains, walking away from me. "Well at least my mom's not a h○e!" I retaliate. "Sorry I stopped laughing at dumb jokes years ago."
