Kaiden huffed in annoyance towards Stiles yet also in defeat. As he watched the boy hurriedly walk down the corridor, supposedly to where ever Scott was, Kaiden had thought, he turned in the opposite direction to where Lydia and Allison were standing waiting. Kaiden had always felt a little weird being like a brother to Stiles and being best friends with the one and only Lydia Martin. Obviously he knew that Stiles has had a crush on her since third grade, and Kaiden had always tried to push Lydia into talking to him, but she would have none of it and Kaiden would always keep trying, a little more subtle.
As Kaiden approached the girls, he noticed a figure behind them and sped up a little. Just as Kaiden had caught up with them, this figure spoke, 'Where's Scott McCall?' A look of confusion spread across all there's face, 'you're Allison right?' The girl Kaiden didn't know faced himself, 'and you must be Kaiden.'
'Yeah, how do you know-' Allison had begun but straight away been interrupted; 'Where's Scott?'
'Look lady, what do you want with my brother?' Kaiden spoke, but was ignored.
'He had to leave,' Allison stammered out, 'he's supposed to be back in class.' As she finished her sentence the mysterious girl grabbed her wrist firmly, and with authority she demanded, 'is he coming back?'
As Lydia spoke up to defend themselves, she too had her wrist grabbed by the girl. Kaiden watched as she squeezed down onto the wrists and took a deep breath. 'Hey,' Kaiden had caught her gaze, 'Stop. You're hurting them.' With that she let go, obviously seeing something in the distance, which Kaiden knew to be the twins, because he was totally not looking out for Ethan in the crowd. The girl took off, as Lydia and Allison both grasped their wrists, looking for what she had just seen. As Allison walked over to her father, Kaiden took Lydia's hand, tracing his fingers lightly over her wrist, 'she bruised you!' He remarked, as Lydia grimaced in pain and Allison too noticed the purplish patterns lacing across her arm, 'huh, me too.'
'Come on let's get you two girls out of here,' Allison's father had spoken, 'you too Kaiden. School can wait another day.' Kaiden and Lydia walked in front as Allsion and her dad talked. Lydia laced her arm through Kaiden's, 'Kai. Thank you. For protecting me I mean. In the classroom, I was so scared, I couldn't breath. Then you came over and shielded me and I felt safe. You protected me when you were able to protect yourself. I can't thank you enough, you are the bestest friend Kaiden.'
'The things I do for you Lydia Martin.' Kaiden said with a smile, as Lydia playfully pushed him and they walked along with Allison and Chris.

Kaiden was currently walking down the street with Stiles and his brother, who both seemed to have dressed for the occasion. Stiles, who was really just wearing the only thing he owned that wasn't a plaid shirt, was taking the boys to a party of some girl he was close to as a kid. Stiles and Scott had been so distant recently, it was nice for them to have been invited along Kaiden had thought. Again he wondered why they had been so distant. At first he thought it had been Allison; Scott getting a girlfriend, going out late at night, sneaking out, disappearing for hours and getting better at everything- to impress Allison, he figured - it all made sense. Yet since Lydia had claimed Allison as her newest friend, Kaiden had gotten to know the girl and she was too sweet, even if she did have a strange family and a father who still scared him. Then Kaiden had thought, maybe it had something to do with Allison breaking up with him, but he had no clue. For Kaiden, he figured the party would be a good idea to find out what was going on. His last attempts to find out had failed; he tried to get his brother completely smashed, in the hopes that he would spill all. It end up backfiring on him - Scott had managed to stay sober while Kaiden had gotten completely drunk.
This time, Stiles would be the target.
'What?' Stiles directed toward Scott.
'What do you mean what?' The other boy replied.
'I mean what and you know what.' Stiles retorted.'
'Wait what?' Kaiden added.
Stiles signed in annoyance, 'That look you were giving.'
'I didn't give a look.'
'There was a distinct look Scott.'
'Ah, I know what that look is.' Kaiden stated.
'Exactly. It's the look that says the last thing you feel like doing right now is going to a party.'
'Bingo.' Kaiden chirped.
The boys disagreed for the whole time walking down the street, which Kaiden blocked out, bought back to reality by the slapping of there hands together.
'Guys how's my breath smell?'
'Im not smelling your breath.'
'Scott just go now.'
'Do you have any gum?'
'No. No gum. You're fine.'
'Stiles,' Kaiden started, 'whose party are we actually going to?' Just as they walked through the door, a bunch of girls were screaming, and Kaiden winced. A girl came straight up to the trio, 'Stiles! Hi!' Walking straight up to him, placing her lips upon his own as a look of confusion filled Stiles' face. Kaiden coughed, trying to cover his laughter. While Scott gaped at the sight. The girl, whose birthday Kaiden assumed it was, took stiles to 'pick out a bottle of wine'. As Stiles turned his head to give the brothers a cheeky grin, Scott was still open mouthed and smiling whilst walking over to the girls friend, 'hey,' he started, but the girl judged him and walked off, before shooting a wink towards Kaiden. Scott seemed a little offended, as Kaiden giggled saying, 'smooth.'

Scott frowned, looking towards his phone noticing an incoming call from Allison. As Scott went outside to answer to call, Kaiden saw stiles racing up the stairs, shooting a big thumbs up at Kaiden, who in returned chuckled before too turning to head outside. He gave the room one last sweep with his eyes, before existing; a part of him was hoping that this was Ethan's school before moving to Beacon Hills High and maybe he'd just turn up. Kaiden scolded himself for being stupid and left the house.
Outside the house he saw Scott talking to Lydia and Allison. Allison seemed to be showing Scott the bruises from earlier on that day. 'Hey, are your wrists okay from earlier?' Kaiden directed towards the girls. 'And did you find that girl that was looking for you Scott?'
'What girl?' Scott asked, as Allison seemed to pale slightly.
'Oh Scott you know. I told you earlier silly!' Lydia walked over to Scott and gave him one of Lydia Martin's 'looks'. Scott seemed to get what ever message she was saying. 'Now come on Kaiden, let's check out this party.' She spoke, linking arms with him, but Kaiden couldn't shake the feeling that even Lydia and Allison were keeping something from him.

The next day, Kaiden found himself in the library with Allison and Lydia for free period. Seated next to Allison who was drawing the bruise on her arm (she was seriously obsessed with it, it was unnerving and Lydia just kept shrugging it off.) Kaiden however, was googling 'reasons why my friends are not telling me things' and yes, he was a little ashamed but he was only half paying attention, because he was also watching Ethan, ever so subtly, from the corner of his eye. Unlike Lydia, who was full on staring at the twins with Bambi eyes. 'I want one.' Lydia said with a hint of a smile on her face. What Lydia Martin wanted, she got. 'Which one?' Allison asked smiling.
'Excuse me!' Kaiden asked with fake annoyance.
'Sorry Kai. The straight one. Obviously.' Allison turned to see Ethan watching Danny, Danny doing the same back resulting in Danny walking straight into someone, over by the bookshelves.
'Looks like you guys are gonna have to get in there quick-' but Lydia had placed her coffee cup down and Kaiden shut down his laptop and they were gone.
Kaiden, stood too at the bookshelf, watching Lydia and Aiden flirting and smiling, longing for Lydia's confidence, wishing that he could just talk to Ethan, to thank him for saving him that night it the woods. He continued watching until he heard a voice behind him. 'Kaiden.' Kaiden whipped round so quickly he hit his head on the book shelf, turning a to a shade of pink, then deepening to bright red as he realised that Ethan himself was standing in front of him, laughing. 'How do you know my name?' But he got no reply as the boy was still laughing at him. 'Ethan quit laughing at me!' He said with annoyance, but a smile on his face none the less. Ethan began to suppress laughter, 'fine, fine. I know your name because you told be in the woods, right after I saved you from being trampled from like a hundred dear. How do you know mine?'
'I know! Thank you so much for that, I've been meaning to tell you for a while but,' Kaiden started to stammer, 'but I never seemed to get the chance. So thank you. I was pretty scared, I didn't want to be remembered as the guy who died because he was stepped on by hundreds of dear.'
'Well I'm glad.'
'That you saved me that embarrassment?'
'That you didn't die.'
'Oh,' Kaiden had started to turn a little pink again.
'You never answered my question.'
'How do I know your name?' The boy nodded. 'Same way you know mine.' Kaiden said with a smile.

'He's totally into you Lyds!' Kaiden exclaimed, plopping down on Lydia's bed. 'I know, right?' Lydia said with a huge grin, tossing her bag on her bed and laying down on her back next to Kaiden. 'Oh Lydia Martin, how I which I had your self confidence.'
'Kaiden, sweetie, you should know this by now, everybody just wants to be me!'
'Ugh, what ever Lyds, you're so vain!' Kaiden spoke with a playful eye roll, but Lydia gave him a playful shove, 'you should have seen yourself talking to Ethan earlier! That head bang - it was tragic. I felt deeply sorry for you.'
'And here I was thinking that you were actually going to be nice to me.'
'Wait for it Kai. You totally saved it. He's the one whose into you. I think it's those blue eyes, they really are-'
'Stop, I know my eyes are great,' Kaiden spoke pushing his face up into Lydia's and widening his eyes, causing her to giggle. 'I don't think he's into me though.'
'Well that's what I'm here for, duh.'
The two fell eventually fell asleep on Lydia's bed, Lydia under the covers while Kaiden lay in a ball on the edge, he knew from experience that girl would take the whole bed. He sat and watched her sleep for a while, happy that he had such a great friend in Lydia. But as he began to fall into a deep slumber, he had not heard when Lydia began to scream, wailing uncontrollably, thrashing in her sheets all while Kaiden didn't even flinch.
