Genre: general fiction, kinda philosophical.
This maybe turned into a full length story.. as mentioned in the description.

It had been a long time since Grace had a heartfelt talk with someone. Well, she couldn't likewise talk with someone, taking account that she basically, had no parents or siblings around her to spend time with. Walking along the steep rocky path of the beach she had  often leisurely explored, she saw a girl, not more than 17, sitting idly on one of the rocks. Her first instinct was to turn around and flee, but something about that girl felt melancholic. Calm expression, cloudy eyes which would casually drift towards the sea. Her gaze was locked on the horizon. Feeling like she needed a little bit of company, Grace carefully trudged towards the girl: so as to not give her a jump scare.

"You feeling fine?" Grace asked, knowing the expression on the girl's face, a little too well. Always spending time in solitude had its perks. "Ever thought whether you are truly feeling lonely or is it just in your head?" the girl asked; her misty eyes still fixed upon the previous scenery.

"What do you mean? Having nobody on your side when you need them the most in your life is loneliness. Having no one to whine to, someone who would care for you or a person to be by your side is loneliness. It's not an imagination or just a phase. Once loneliness engulfs you, it never goes." Grace answered, quite perplexed at the question.

"Wrong." Sparing a glance for the first time, the girl continued, "Ever heard of the phrase, "You Never Walk Alone"?" She said, the corner of  her lips curling up to a small yet sad smile. Eyes now more focused, softened, the next words that came from her mouth turned Grace's way of thinking into a new path.

"This phrase was told to me by someone special before they left me. Every time thinking about it changes the meaning into a more philosophical yet practical, heartwarming, real and deeper meaning. It sits in the corner of my heart. "You will always have someone by your side, whether you realize it or not, whether you like it or not. It doesn't need to be someone special, nor it has to be a very close person to you. Strangers or situations, moments that you experience, emotions that you feel, or people whom you see walking by or beside you, can make you feel this phrase in so many different yet ethical ways, that you wouldn't even know till how much extent it has affected you. Yet, again, necessarily it does not have to be a materialistic thing or a feeling that can be described by us. It can be nature too. Like rain, which makes you remember your beloved. Wind, which subtly makes you calm. Sun, which gives you hope that there's always new things for you to experience until your last breath. Maybe, even after you die. Night, that suddenly makes you feel like you're in eutopia. If you believe in spirits, you will also believe that the spirit of our guardians and loved ones look after us and guide us, which again proves that you're not alone."

"So, if anyone asks you about this, or you feel lonely, alone, sad and betrayed, always remember this phrase clearly. "You Never Walk Alone." It's just the time is around the corner that you are going to find that person soon who is walking beside you. Silently, smiling at you and keeping you company when it's dark."

To say Grace was shocked would be an understatement. She was in solitude for so long, blaming her fate for leaving her without a single strand of hope. She saw that, never once was she truly lonely. Not everyone had betrayed her. At least, not the universe. The chaos in her mind settled as she looked clearly into the girl's eyes. "Well, it's pretty late. The sun's setting. Want to meet tomorrow at the same time?" The girl asked, pretty much knowing the answer. "Sure, why not?" Grace replied. Thanking her, they parted ways.

"Then, Until We Meet Again."

"Until We Meet Again."

They shook hands and went onto opposite directions, with a silent promise and a company for tomorrow.
