New day (chapter 1)

Marks Pov:

I wake up slowly from my sleep, still half awake I try pull my self out of my sleepiness and to my wardrobe.
"Ugh.." I think to myself as I realise I have to go to school. I hate it there, Well I mean I like my mates and all, but the teachers do my head in. I picked out a grey tracksuit and some black Nike runners. "That's okay I guess" I mumble to myself.
I quickly get dressed and head down to my kitchen to pure myself a bowl of cereal, Coco pops to be specific. As I'm making my breakfast, I see my ma walk in the room. "Heya hunny, Make sure brush your teeth before you leave, gotta go bye!" My mam walked out of the room  and left for work. I ate my cereal, brushed my teeth, got my bag and left for school. I only lived around the corner.

I got in the classroom and seen everyone already seated and getting there books out, One person that wasn't there was Paul.
Strange.
Paul is always early? Maybe he's sick, or even pulling a sicky haha! Can't remember the last time I did that.
"Hey Mark" I heard a voice behind me, I turned and was faced, face to face with Paul, "Heya bro" I answered back with a smile. We both walked over to our seats and sat down. Not only 2 minutes into the lesson I heard a knock on our classroom door, Susan our year-head walked in. "Sorry for disturbing, can I have Paul and Mark with me for a minute?" Our teacher nodded and me and Paul got up out of our seats confused to why we were called out of our classroom. When we were out of the class Susan motioned us to her office. We sat down and she began to speak. "Mark. Paul. You two have been coming in late for more than 4 days now. I have no choice but to give you boys a detention,"

There wasn't anything me and Paul could do, and there was no point of us making up excuses because Susan wouldn't believe us.
"Alight boys, you may head back to your class now"
We nodded and left back to our class.

The day went by so slow for some reason. We only had a few subjects but everything seemed to go in slow motion.
Eventually the bell rang and everyone left, but I didn't realise it. I was too busy thinking about random thoughts.
"MARK!" I felt myself jump and fall out of my chair with the fright. It was Paul. "Are ye deaf or sum? Iv calling your name 4 times already!" Paul said frustrated.
"Y-yeah okay chillax, don't get your knickers twisted-"
He then realised I was on the ground.
"I- oh- Sorry bro" He came over to me and reached his hand out for me. I grabbed it and he helped me up.
I don't know what got to me but I just stood there looking into Paul's dark forest green eyes. I snapped back into reality and pushed my books into my bag trying to hide the deep crimson blush on my face. Why do I feel warm and cozy around him. Well, he is my best mate? "It's just a friend thing" I kept telling myself in my head. I felt a tap on my shoulder, "Ye ready to go? We have detention, remember?" Oh shit. I forgot we had that. "Oh! Yeah, yeah. Im ready let's just go." He looked at me confused.

We got into Susan's office quick and sat down next to eachother. She walked in the room and told us that she is heading out and that there will be a teacher in the staff room.

We nodded and she headed off.
"Guess it's just us huh?" Paul said to break the silence.
"Yeah I guess so.." I said as I looked down at the desk. I took out a pen and paper and started doodling and drawing stick men, I'm not good at art so I just sketch things for fun or when I'm bored. I was half way in my drawing when I felt eyes on me. I turned quickly to see what Paul was doing and accidentally pressed my lips on his. We broke the 'kiss' and stared at eachother eye wide.
"I-" is all Paul said as his face went a dark shade of red.
I blushed and looked away.
"S-sorry man- no homo." I said quietly so only he could hear. He looked a bit upset at my statement, maybe it was the kiss? Well. Our lips touching. "You okay dude? " I asked genuinely concerned, but also trying to change the subject. "Yeah man, I'm fine." He looked down at his desk and just sat there quietly. So did I.
