One day in the Tom and Jerry household, a peeved Jerry Mouse lay inside his mousehole. Jerry was sitting in his chair getting more annoyed by the minute.
This was because of a strange disappearance of a certain tomcat. A tomcat named Tom. Tom had been missing for an entire day. He exited his house in the afternoon yesterday giddy and holding a box of chocolates for some girl, but hasn't been seen since. At first this was great news for the little mouse.
When Jerry found out he went and stole/ate all of the food he could eat and steal, to the entire dismay of the owners of the house. The owners tried to get Jerry out or stop him with a broom, but it was no use. However soon after things took an unfortunate turn for Jerry as the owners then declared that if Jerry keeps stealing more and Tom's not back they'll call the pest control immediately. That soon made Jerry nervous and he hid in his mousehole the rest of the day.
So then the owners and Jerry kept waiting, waitng, and waiting for Tom, but he still hadn't come. The owners knew that Tom would sometimes leave to visit his friends like Butch, girls he dated in the past like Toodles, or another chase with him and Jerry had him ending up somewhere else, but he always came back at the end of the day. Now they have gotten worried and are starting to talk about putting lost pet posters and looking for him.
"Where is Tom?! He has been gone all day!" One of Tom's owners, Joan, said worried.
"He has been gone for a very long time" Said George, the other owner of Tom, who usually got annoyed at Tom all the time and preferred Spike, but even he was getting worried too.
As Jerry sat in his chair, a part of him started to get ...worried for him as well? Yes, Jerry was actually starting to worry for Tom. He rarely ever disappears like that, at least without leaving a note. And as much as Jerry hates to admit it, sometimes when Tom is gone for a long time he gets a bit lonesome sometimes. Jerry can't stand lining with Tom most of the time, but other times it's just no fun without him. Jerry then thought about where Tom was going before he left. He looked like was going to see the new chick Tom was loving now. Jerry frowned.
"That greedy dame?" Jerry thought.
Jerry hated that girl, the new girl cat that was white with grey stripes that recently moved in, the one Tom had been recently dating.
Ever since Tom had first flipped his lip and fell in love with her Tom had did everything he could to impress her or please her, he was putty in her hands. However he never could, as his rival Butch had more than he ever could. Much more expensive gifts and money, which she preferred over Tom. Jerry had tried to warn him and stop him but the determined cat refused to listen. Tom was so desparate and had tried and tried to get the most expensive and fancy things, but no matter what Butch's gifts were always bigger and better than Tom's could ever be.
"That golddigger!" Jerry thought to himself.
Jerry was frustrated, especially since lately now because of all of this, Tom doesn't chase Jerry as much as he used to anymore, and Jerry missed it. Jerry missed those chases, and he missed outwitting Tom. Even thought the chases were destructive, Jerry had found most of them to be actually for him (Espasially since Jerry won most of the time).
As it became darker and darker, Tom still hasn't came. Then, when it was almost midnight, the door opened and someone came through the door. It was Tom. He had finally came and walked in the house and sat on the couch.
The owners came and heard the door open so they went down the stairs. Jerry was still up, as a little earlier he woke to get a little midnight snack, and he now saw Tom.
Jerry was now excited to be with Tom. Jerry then saw that the owners were coming down as well.
"Wait, the owners are coming down to here and now they'll see me... and Tom's back here..." Jerry was thinking as an idea formed in his head.
