It was cold...

Freezing to be exact.

She shivered from the cold that was biting at her bare arms. She had just managed to pick herself up when a horrendous, shooting, aching pain travelled throughout her being. Her legs were quivering under her weight and a wave of pain warbled in her head. She stumbled over to a rock to help support herself and groined in agonising pain. She didn't know what was happening or where she was but soon her hazy vision started to clear up and the achiness feeling in her head and body faded away. She could now stand up on her own and when she finally came to her senses, she looked around to try and get an idea on where she was.

Nothing seemed recognisable. Nothing. Not even a single building seemed familiar to her. All she could see were derelict houses and buildings that were crumbling away with no sign of life inside them. Rusty cranes were still up, holding unused building parts and old cars. There was very little vegetation, the ground consisted of drought and cement with many cracks that were big enough to break an ankle if tripped over. Long unkempt patches of brown grass swayed a little in the thick cold air.

Still having no idea where she was, she began to panic. A horrid feeling of dread washed over her body as she began to shake much more from fear as well as the cold. After coming to her senses, she realised that panicking would only make her situation more dire than it needed to be. She calmed herself down and lifted her trembling hands to rub her temples. However she noticed something on the palm of her right hand. 'SUBJECT NAME: Thorne'. She stared at it confused before realising that was her new name as it seems.

"Thorne huh...?"

She said to herself and was just even more puzzled by this apparent name change. Thorne then remembered that she could have her phone with her. A little spark of hope ignited inside her as she hastily reached her hand in the side pocket of her dungarees to find the device. She managed to take it out and turn on the screen but was left with disappointment when it was on one percent. She looked at the time and saw that it was 2:35pm on the 1st of November, with a little text that read:

'You have a month to survive. Be careful on who you trust. Your death is permanent but you can choose if your 'friends' death are permanent. Good luck.'

Thorne had just managed to finish reading the text until her phone started to glitch and then suddenly, little sparks appeared all around her phone causing her to jump in surprise and drop the device. The phone fell and a mini explosion happened as soon as it made contact with the concrete floor. She stared at it in surprise for a moment before exhaling a sigh and picking it up back from the ground.

Thorne then brushed herself off before looking around once more and finally got herself to move. She had no idea where she was going but figured she should attempt to find a house to settle in for the time being to try and collect what was happening. It had been a while now, and Thorne was still walking. She began to feel fatigue attempting to take over her body as she desperately wanted to just stop and let sleep take over her body but she pushed herself forward and continued.

Not long after, she suddenly stopped in her tracks as she heard a faint rustling sound coming from a nearby overgrown hedge. She assumed it must be a small animal or just the wind so paid no attention to it and hastily continued. However before she could take a single step, an unknown man jumped out of the hedge about seven feet away from her. She gasped in surprise and reeled back from where she was standing as the sudden appearance of this person startled her. The man had a Cheshire Cat smile on his face and his eyes were open abnormally wide. He held what seemed to be a large knife in his right hand and started to charge towards Thorne at an alarmingly fast pace. She panicked, she absent minded reached into her other pocket hoping to have some sort of weapon with her and took out a large, sharp kitchen knife. Without thinking, Thorne charged towards the man and sunk the blade deep into his chest before he had the chance to attack. He dropped his blade and dark, crimson blood poured out from both his chest and mouth. His eyes started to roll back and then dropped dead onto the harsh floor.

Thorne withdrew her blade from the attacker and began to shake violently at what she had just done. She couldn't comprehend on what had happened and started to feel herself getting hysterical. This time she took off running as fast as her little legs would carry her and found herself in front of an abandoned house. Before she could step inside and cry about how she got stuck on this scary, awful mess she took a glimpse of herself in a shattered mirror and saw her reflection about fifteen time. Already vermillion blood drops were splattered onto her freckles face and even on her clothes. She even noticed that she had two little but sharp teeth on either side. She couldn't stare at herself any longer and furiously kicked the shards of dirty glass away and hurriedly rushed inside the house. She collapsed to the floor and buried her bloody hands into her face and bawled herself out. Tiny puddles of pink salty tears dropped to the floor as she wailed in sorrow and fear thinking...

'How the hell am I going to get out of this?'
