"Feeling giddy are we?" Mauve asks once they returned to their dormitories.

Upon entering, Ellie had immediately plopped herself on the bed, a dreamy sigh escaping her.

"Possibly," she answered back, facing the ceiling as she smiled softly to herself.

"Mhm," Mauve states with her lips pressed in a firm line.

Ellie moved so that her elbows were now propped up on the bed, hand supporting her head as she faced her friend.

"....possibly," she answers once again but her cheeks are tinted pink and Mauve is aware that a 'possibly' was the closest thing she'd get to a 'definitely' from the girl.

"You're completely hopeless, aren't you? You know, I've been waiting for the moment when you'd fall head over heels for a guy, but I just didn't plan for that guy to be Malfoy," she says and her face warps into disgust once the name leaves her mouth.

"Well, trust me when I tell you that I never planned that either," Ellie states, choosing to properly sit up on the bed.

"But I promise he's not what you think. He's actually so sweet and charming and..."

"Ellie, please, I promise that despite my personal feelings for him, I'm happy for you, but if you fawn over him like that again, I'm literally going to barf," Mauve admits, hand over her mouth in exaggeration.

Ellie chuckles at this, rolling her eyes and reaching over to throw a pillow at her, which she successfully dodges.

The two girls then proceeded to talk about the Yule Ball (Mauve had been asked by an older Ravenclaw boy, Charles Fike), and how they would go looking for dresses when the weekend came, both completely oblivious to the package being left at their door.

"What's this?"

Susan Bones had stepped into the room with a box in her hand.

All the girls in the room exchange confused, yet intrigued looks as they shuffled over to Susan, who had placed the box on a bed closest to the door.

"There's an envelope attached to the top. Perhaps it states who it's for?" another girl suggests.

Susan does as advised and opens up the envelope, revealing a handwritten note.

"It says 'To my favorite little bird, Finch. From Malfoy'," Susan reads and everyone surrounding her snap their heads to Ellie, who was among the small crowd of curious girls.

Her cheeks flush as Susan passes her the note, examining the box and taking in its lush green wrapping and the grand black bow sitting atop it.

"Well, what are you waiting for? Open it," Mauve pushes on and the girls all voice their agreement.

Ellie gently unwraps the big box, opening it up to a bed of light brown fabric. Taking it in her hands, she unfolds the fabric and reveals a stunning dress, long enough to reach the floor. The girls all 'ooh' around her, staring at it with dazzled expressions.

The dress was covered in floral lace all throughout the bodice, the flowers a light blush color that glittered in the light. The sleeves seemed to be designed to fall off the shoulder and the waist was a skirt made entirely of tulle, which flowed gracefully to the ground and changed colors as it went down, going from beige, to blush, to light brown.
