June 27, 3030 11:00 am, Jonah woke up, since it was his birthday, he got to sleep in, skip inspection, and not have to do chores. The guard came in and pushed warm biscuits and gravy through the door, along with a present, still wrapped. Jonah looked at the present puzzled. The guards were supposed to check all things going to prisoners, if it was wrapped they would unwrap it and open the box, then give it to the prisoner. The intact wrapping meant that the guard didn't check it. The guard winked at Jonah then left. Jonah opened the present and found a small puzzle box that said open with caution. Jonah fiddled with the box for two hours trying to get it open he finally got it open at around lunch time. Inside it was a small tube. Jonah knew what it was immediately, it was his science project from when he was 13. Jonah carefully unscrewed the cap and squeezed a pea size amount of the paste onto one of the bars on the window. The bar froze then shattered like glass. "Wow, I can't believe that it worked." Jonah said under his breath. He put paste on all the bars of the window. They all froze then shattered, Jonah squeezed through the small window. He popped out into a forest, he ran into the forest and didn't stop till he was safely hidden. He walked towards the dock until he noticed that he was still wearing his prison uniform. He noticed a guard walking towards a boat. Jonah crept silently behind him, knocked him out, and switched his clothes. After hiding the unconscious guard in a bush he walked to the boat.

"Jonah, look at me," his father said, trying to make Jonah make eye contact with him, "I will be back as soon as I can." Jonah's father was about to board the sea train to Antarctica, where he would be doing an expedition that would hopefully give answers on how humans could populate the ice desert. Jonah watched as his father boarded the train. There was a small whistle and the train dove into the sea.

June 28, 3030 10:00am. The ship pulled to an abrupt halt and Jonah was flung forward. A voice came on the inter-com, "we have come to a slight delay we are very sorry." the voice said. Jonah frowned the more time they waited, the less time till he got caught. Jonah looked around. There was a man standing by the rail when Jonah got closer he realized who it was "Mark?" Jonah asked, the man turned with a look of confusion, then he noticed, "Jonah, but how you were supposed to be in Artic Chill?" his brother said. Jonah smiled. "A guard gave me my science project. I wonder why though?" Jonah said tilting his head to the sky and tapping his chin with his index finger. Jonah looked at his brother "just please don't tell anyone that I escaped." Jonah begged. Mark gave him somber look but nodded. "Ok" he whispered. Jonah looked Mark in the eye, almost daring him to look into his eye, "I mean it Mark, tell NOBODY." Mark looked at him "Ok I won't tell a soul," he said. Jonah regretted telling Mark that he escaped, with an entire continent looking for him, he wasn't sure if he could trust anyone, not even himself.

Jonah looked out the window, snow had fallen the night before and had left everything looking like someone had erased everything. Jonah was waiting for his mother to come home because he wasn't allowed to go outside till she got back from the store. When his mother got home Jonah shot like a rocket to go meet her. "Hi mom, do you need any help?" He asked. Jonah's mother looked at him "no I got it" she said closing the door. Jonah put on his coat. "I'm going outside mom" he shouted. He put on his puts and went outside. "Hey Jonah, do you want to go sledding?" his friend Allie asked. Now when Allie says "go sledding" it usually means sledding down the two flights of stairs that led to her door. Jonah smiled, "sure" he said grabbing his sled. He and allie sledded down the stairs for an hour or so, when they went inside for hot cocoa their cheeks were as red as strawberries.

June 29, 3030 7:28pm, Jonah paced impatiently back and forth on the ship's deck. He was growing impatient while he waited for the ship to start moving again. "Can i join you?" Mark asked, leaning against the rail. Jonah looked over at him and went inside. "Was it something I said? Jonah, what's wrong?" Mark shouted after him
