Locked In

chapter 7:

"Why is he holding a gun to her head..." I asked Riley. "Shut up, and don't make him mad. Too many questions and that will be you." He said harshly. As we pulled into the driveway the screams got louder and then the gun went off. She fell to her knees.... Dead. When I got out of the car, Riley grabbed my hand and lead me into the house. Once inside he made me sit in his lap. He said it would go a lot smoother that way. The man looked angry as he paced back and fourth. "What are you doing here Riley?" He whispered. "I just needed to know that your taking care of her...." He trailed off. "If you came to take her back...." The man began. "You can have her!" He walked to the back of the house and opened a door. When he stepped out he had a blue blanket in his hands. He handed the blanket to Riley. I looked at it in aw when I realized what it was. It was a baby! "W-whats his name?" I mumbled. Riley looked at me hatefully but before he could speak the man spoke up. "His names Jermey, he's only 6 months old...." "Yea and now he's your responsibility." Riley spoke up. "You will treat him like he's yours." I couldn't believe it.... I'm...a...mom!!
