Victoria's P.O.V.
August 18, 1965
I walked into the grocery store like I did every other Wednesday morning. I walked back to the produce aisle picking out different fruits and vegetables and putting them into my basket. I wasn't paying attention to where I was walking and bumped into an attractive, taller man with dark hair.
"Oh, I'm sorry." I said as I walked around him.
"No, my apologies. What's your name?" He asked.
"Victoria Johnson" I smiled and began picking out food again.
"Brian Epstein" He stated as if I should know who he is. "Tell me about yourself" he said following along side me.
"Like what?" I looked at him curiously.
"Age? Job? Favorite Musicians? In a relationship?"
"Um, okay. I'm twenty-two, I'm currently in between jobs, and Elvis. And I'm not seeing anyone at the moment" I gave him an odd look as we continued to walk.
"What if I told you I could get you a well paying job?" He asked lifting an eyebrow.
"Well, I'd say thank you but I'm not sure I should trust a man I just met." I laughed a little.
"You can trust me." He pulled out a piece of paper and a pen scribbling down something. "Here's the number you can reach me at for tonight. Call me if you change your mind." He handed me the paper and walked off.
That was a bit odd. I finished shopping and made my way home.
I grabbed the bags from my car and the newspaper off of my porch as i made my way into the house. I put everything up and went to my room. I sat on my bed and groaned when I read the title of the first article."Jane Asher and Paul McCartney spilt after McCartney caught cheating"
What a jerk. All men are the same whether they're famous or not. I set the paper down and I pulled out the paper Brian had handed me earlier today with his number. I thought about the job offer. I could use the money. I haven't been able to find a job in a few weeks. I stared at it for a moment before walking over to the phone and dialing his number.
"Hello?" He answered the phone. His voice sounding tired.
"Hi, Brian? It's Victoria. The girl from the store. I hope I didn't wake you."
"Oh no. You're fine. Did you change your mind?"
"I did. I'd like to take the job."
"Great. Meet me in the back of the Atlanta stadium in an hour." He said before hanging up the phone.
I didn't understand why he wanted to meet at the stadium at 7 but as long as I get a job I'm fine. I threw on a pair of dark jeans and a black shirt and walked out the door.
I arrived at the stadium a few minutes early and saw a line of screaming girls outside of the stadium.
"Fantastic." I muttered under my breath.
I took me atleast 20 minutes to make it past the crowd and to the back of the arena. Once I was parked I saw Brian waiting for me.
"Sorry I'm late there was a crowd of screaming girls-"
"We don't have much time to talk come with me" He said motioning for me to follow him.
I followed Brian as we walked into an empty dressing room. I watched as he shut the door behind him and motioned for me to sit on the couch behind me.
"Okay, so if you don't know I am the Beatles manager and Paul has gotten a lot of bad publicity with all of the cheating rumors-"
"Where do I come into this?" I asked.
"I need you to pretend to be Paul's girlfriend for the next couple of months. Then you'll break his heart and then the rumors will pass over."
I stared at Brian. I have to pretend to be Paul McCartney's girlfriend? I don't think so. He's a cheater. He deserves this bad publicity.
"I'm not sure about this idea" I replied standing up.
"I'll pay you a thousand dollars." I froze. I didn't want to admit it but I am in desperate need of money.
"I'll do it." I said after a few moments.
