Kristine's First Kiss

"Hi Tine!" A very tired looking Mary Grace Dayto called her twin as she run through the doors of Rose Mary Middle School.

"Hi Grace!" A very cheerful Kristine exclaimed "Want to walk home with me and Xyra?"

Xyra was Kristine's best friend ever since in elementary.

"No thanks I'm looking for Marie. Have you guys saw her?" Mary Grace asked.

"Not since homeroom" Kristine replied.

"Why are you looking for Marie anyway?" Xyra asked.

"I can't tell you guys all the details but Mark thinks Marie is cute" Mary Grace stated.

"Oh can you help me with my art project at home?" Kristine asked.

"Sure no problem as long as you help me with our research on bugs. I didn't understand anything in class" Mary Grace said.

"It's a deal" Kristine stated happily.

"I've got to go now Lisa must me waiting for me" Mary Grace said walking away.

"See ya at home" Kristine said as she and Xyra walks towards their home.

"You're very lucky to have a twin" Xyra stated.

"I guess I am" Kristine replied thinking how great life was with her twin. Even though both girls have long Lilac colored hair that sparkle in the sunlight, blue eyes and creamy colored, skin they were really very different. Mary Grace like to talk about boys and clothes, and to have as much fun as possible.Grace is even a member of The Daisies, an exclusive club consisting of the prettiest and popular girls in school. While Kristine like more serious things - reading, writing and having long talks with a good friend. She dedicated much of her free time writing and editing for the Rose Mary Sixers, the school newspaper she helped found.

"And lately it seems that we have even more to talk about"  Kristine stated.

Xyra grinned "Like the big party that Eric Matthews gave at the Hang-out?" It had been the biggest and important party ever and everyone is still talking about it.

At that moment, Kristine looked up and saw Don Dave Mirasol riding his bike. Kristine waved at him and Don Dave grinned shyly as he returned her wave.

"You know Don Dave Mirasol is cute" Xyra told Kristine.

Kristine felt herself burn red. She thought so too, although she was shy about saying so. She had known Don Dave since she was in elementary. But since sixth grade she didn't see much of him. She hadn't thought about him lately until she saw him dancing with her twin at Eric's party. After that, she seemed to see him everywhere. And every time she saw him goosebumps would break out on her arms and butterflies start fluttering in her stomach. Don Dave had grown a lot cuter. He had brown and forest green eyes.  Kristine developed what her twin would call a major crush on him.

"Of course he's not just the only cute guy around if you ask me Ricardo is just as cute" Xyra added.

Xyra and Ricardo had always been good friends and Kristine had notice recently the two of them spending more time together.

Kristine smiled knowing it was the best time to tell her friend how she felt about Don Dave. But she wasn't sure she was ready to share her feelings. It was all new and strange and even a little scary. She felt funny telling Xyra something she didn't even share with her sister and Kristine definitely knew she couldn't talk to her twin about Don Dave.

That was the problem. Kristine had the feeling that Mary Grace might be interested in Don Dave. Mary Grace had dance with him at Eric's party, a fact that Caroline Pearce had mentioned in her last Sixers gossip column. It was clear to Kristine that Mary Grace enjoyed all of her classmates teasing her about him. Lately, his new came up every conversation she had with her sister. Kristine decided that it wouldn't be right for her to like the same boy that her sister did. She couldn't tell anyone how she felt about Don Dave Mirasol.
