A Sunday.★★★
Namjoon woke up quite bored this Sunday. He was on his leave while the precinct stayed closed. For that matter of fact, all seven of them were on leave; you know, government job stuff.
He just knew that the boys were slouching their day off, and that four out of the other six were still asleep, shirtless. Hoseok was likely to be visiting his mother for today, and the others, meh. He didn't really care.
Hoseok was the only one who equally involved himself in the case, the others just took this as a straight up nine to five job. They weren't to be completely blamed either (if thought practically). Their posting was at a very callous, lazy station and that shit just kind of gets to you.
The previous night, Namjoon received a text from Yoongi and Seokjin saying they were going to a club this Sunday night. They asked if Namjoon wanted to tag along and said man, being the incomprehensible man he is, declined while usually, he'd agree to such stress-relieving meets on other days.
He didn't know if it was the mental pressure of the case that was stopping him from actually letting a little loose and calm his mind. But he did know that this case was bothering him a lot more than it should have. Something inside him made him take this up personally, and he had no clue why. But nonetheless of all that was happening, he was glutted with concerns regarding this case.
However, Namjoon decided to keep aside his stressful thoughts for a while and maybe put this leave on good use. Not from the point of view the case, of course. Instead, from the perspective of a hard-working officer. He really could use a short break from his work life.
He started his day off like any other - freshening up and then preparing himself a breakfast.
He wanted to dress well today, he'd been a slob for too long now. And so he did; he wore a pair of newly ironed jeans and a black turtleneck on top, rolling up his sleeves and childishly smiling at the way his arms flexed.
Guess a little bit of workout does do the deed.
He gelled up his hair, and applied some moisturizer on his face — the dry skin was making him feel like a troll. It was funny how he woke up looking like he'd been homeless for ages, and now he was looking like a billionaire model.
Surprising how he wasn't in a relationship yet.
Then he realised, he always ran away from relationships. There was no specific reason as to why he helmed his boat of love away from people willing to step on. Perhaps, it just wasn't a very Kim Namjoon thing to do? Ironically, he dreamt of being a dad at one point in life.
To him though, being single had it's own unique perks. He didn't have to always think of that person at the back of his mind. No criminal could use his partner as his weak spot against him. He wouldn't have to always justify to an obsessed Karen-like partner for why he was late at times.
Oof. Relationships were a tough call to take.
So, Namjoon shrugged off all his irrelevant thoughts and went on to prepare himself a nice, Sunday breakfast. Only to see that his refrigerator had no edible items and that his racks only had a couple cans of ready-to-eat ramen.
Frankly speaking, he didn't recall the last time he went grocery shopping. Namjoon was pretty much crashing his nights at Hoseok's or Jimin's place for the last few days, and meals had long left the chat.
