ALVARA
After 4 days of travel, I was itching for some real food and a space-dwelling bed. The ship's beds were always lumpy, and the food was packed with preservatives to last for long trips. I didn't mind serving the League, but there were certainly more glamorous jobs for a woman in space.
My ship's technology was currently scanning the 4th out of 12 planets we believed to have water and nutrient-dense soil. My mind was in dreamland as usual, and I was scrolling through space news on the ship's data interface when I noticed motion in my peripheral vision. I glanced over to see the stars moving.
I could feel my eyes widen, as my ship gained velocity. I was quickly being sucked into the 4th unknown planet's gravitational force, and if I didn't act soon I could be looking at a crash landing.
My heart was in my throat as I quickly got into the captain's chair and veered the controls up, attempting to escape the force that the planet had over my ship. Sweat beaded on my brow as the ship began shaking ferociously, and the speaker was repeating "Stabilization failed, enact emergency protocol. Stabilization failed, enact emergency protocol."
My hands were sweating and I realized every pilot's worst fears were coming true, my ship malfunctioned, probably due to the damage it took while escaping the rebel horde. Now I was plummeting way too fast into an unknown planet. I'm going to die.
With that staggering thought, I quickly sprung into action. I put my safety vest on and buckled it, hoping the parachute wasn't damaged. I should've requested a safety inspection at the station dammit. Hopefully, all of the emergency protocol controls still worked.
Gathering my coat, boots, mask and a few packages of food was the best I could do by the time I breached the planet's atmosphere. The dense forests and large lakes were inviting, and I was glad it wasn't desert terrain. At least If I survived the crash I'd have a chance.
A desperate survival instinct was thrumming through my veins, and I remembered to place an oxygen mask on my face last minute before opening the ejection hatch. I climbed out, bracing the harsh wind and loud whipping noise in my ears. I waited for the exact right moment and leaped off the craft.
Most of the ship's outer structure was burning, but luckily I was through the majority of the atmosphere and had no chance of burning up along with Judy blue.
Quickly releasing the parachute, my stomach dropped as I was yanked into a floating position through the sky. My feet dangled thousands of feet above the ground, and my heart was pounding.
I looked down and admired the pristine environment, the whole planet looked to be untouched by civilization. That Fukani was wrong to say there was intelligent life here. Intelligent life destroys, conquers, and takes. Here there was simply a tranquil natural utopia.
At that moment, my fears and worries, regrets and sorrows drifted away from me. There were 4 stars and one moon on this planet, somehow the planet was far enough away to remain in the goldilocks zone, and support plant life.
The beauty of the bright landscape, lush rivers, and waterfalls left my heart soaring. I could smell the crisp trees and hear the raging waters. Everything was vibrantly colored, almost neon. As I got closer to a pond that I aimed to land in, I spotted pocket meadows of the most brilliant flowers I've ever seen in my life. Purples, blues, oranges, yellows, and multicolored petals filled her vision. How could they leave this magnificent planet unexplored?
