let's be real here, y/n was broke, and by broke, i mean like really- really in debt. there'd be no other reason this story would exist, no? moving on, it seemed like a regular day. well only for her, as if you were to be another person, perhaps you would've pitied this girl.

nevermind, i doubt that she would want your worthless pity anyways.

alas, she sat in a shadow-covered corner of a train station- mainly to escape the temperature and harsh weather outside. the rain was actually really heavy and the wind seemed to continuously send shivers down her back, making her hug herself tightly in an attempt to warm herself up.

no doubt that her hoodie and loose pair of shorts were not enough to protect her from the freezing temperature.

it was then that a man approached her. perhaps he should've backed off as he saw her ignoring him and not even sending him a glance when he waved at her, and maybe that would've been a mistake to not leave at that point.

she ignores his wave and stupid attempt to make conversation with her and when he wouldn't leave her alone, she finally snapped.

within a second, she had a small blade grazing across his neck, merely millimeters from killing him off.

"woah! calm down there!" he attempts to defend.

"what. do. you. want?" she speaks slowly and clearly. obviously, if this had been a mere stranger, she would've just walked off somewhere else, but she could already tell that this man had other intentions.

a man with an expensive branded business suit, carrying a briefcase that was most likely to contain either some sort of weapons or a whole load of cash. she could only wonder why he decided to approach her.

"ah, would you perhaps like to play a game with me?" how could her competitive inner self say no to such a request? she hums for a moment, pondering about what the man could be going on about.

"ddakji, have you heard of it?" she shakes her head while removing the small blade from the neck, muttering a small apology that she definitely did not mean at all.

he opens up his briefcase, revealing all his stacked up money, and two envelopes in a corner.

"each time you win, i'll give you 100,000 won. and if i flip your envelope, you give me the same amount. is that alright?"

'ugh, rich people.' she scoffs in her mind.

"excuse me pretty guy, but i don't have that much. so you better be on your way now." she attempts to shoo him off, but he was definitely not finished there.

"how about i slap you- on the face- for every time i flip your envelope?" ah, that was indeed tempting. y/n had a high pain tolerance anyways and felt that in exchange for a compromising amount of money it was a decent deal. either that or she really wanted to buy noodles and didn't have any money on her.

"sure i guess..."

"great! blue or red?" she picks up the blue envelope, knowing that it probably wouldn't make a major difference anyways.

she stops for a moment before circling around the unnamed man's envelope, trying to find a good angle. she then proceeds to lift her arm upwards, and then slams down her envelope, prepared for herself to win.

she did not win.

actually, she flipped the other envelope nearly halfway over but then it fell back down again. she wasn't even sure how that logic worked herself.

"well i guess it's my turn." he announces.

'yeah, shut up.' she bites her lip in a attempt to keep herself from speaking aloud her harsh thoughts.
