"kuroo, what do i do?" kenma asked his best friend, not knowing why exactly due to the male having zero game with girl.

"sounds like you lost your chance to me." kuroo said, shrugging as kenma's head hit his desk, "i mean, do you like her?"

kenma shrugged, "i don't know."

"how do you not know?" kuroo asked, getting a glare from kenma.

"aren't you the same guy who gets a crush on literally everyone he meets?" kenma sassed, getting a roll of kuroo's eyes.

"i'm a hopeless romantic, what can i say?" he said, his friend groaning before slamming his head back down.

it'd been almost five days since the night they fought and y/n confessed. kenma had tried to reach out, getting zero replies and even being ignored all together.

"how about this time, instead of going to her house to confront her you go there with flowers and an apology." kuroo offered, seeing kenma relax a bit.

"that's actually not that bad." he said, "but i think if i see her face to face she might actually punch me this time."

kuroo shrugged, "write a letter or something, ask her to meet you somewhere and if she shows up promise to open up more and actually follow through. if she doesn't, give her space, let her contact you." his advice was better than what kenma thought it'd be.

"that's actually helpful," he turned his head away from kuroo, "thank you." kuroo squealed, tackling kenma in a hug as the bell rang telling students it was time for class.

"don't mention it, baby kenma! just invite me to the wedding!" with that, he winked and left, leaving kenma to plan out his letter.

meanwhile, y/n sat at home with a stomach ache and her father looking after her. he was concerned, the night kenma had come over he'd heard them outside but didn't try to listen in. seeing his daughter so worked up about a boy made him sad, he wanted to help but he'd always felt a bit distant when it came to y/n and her friends.

"you feeling hungry at all, sweetheart?" he asked, coming into the living room to see her staring up at the ceiling.

she shook her head, eyes closing as she relaxed further into the couch.

he wanted to help, but didn't know how.

"you know you can talk to me about anything," he started, seeing her flinch a bit, "i don't know exactly what's going on but i can try and help you through it."

y/n sighed, hearing her poor father so worried made her heart ache. he's such a lovely man, always caring for his kids more than himself.

"i think i messed up." she mumbled, "i was too mean." she explained what happened, telling her dad all about kenma and her crush that'd been growing since they'd met.

"you were a bit harsh, but he deserved it." the older man said, "but it sounds like he's truly sorry. if he's asking what he can do to prove he's sorry why don't you tell him?" she was silent, "you don't know either, do you?"

y/n sighed, "i'm over the whole voice reveal thing. when he apologized the first time i knew he meant it but it still hurt." she said, "but he violated my boundaries, whether he was half awake or not he still did it." she continued, sitting up to face her dad.

"what if he reveals my face next? our address? everyone would know what i look like and where we live, people are gross we'd be in danger if he did that again." she said, seeing her father nod.

"trust is an issue with our family." he said, "your mother and i didn't trust each other, that's what lead to our split. sometimes, you just have to trust someone to not betray you again. it's hard, but it's better than leaving someone you love."

y/n was silent, taking in what her dad had said.

"trust can make or break a relationship, y/n. but everyone is human, and humans learn from their mistakes. you have to trust that he's learned."

with that, papa mattsun hugged his daughter, kissing her forehead and telling her he loves her.

y/n understood what he'd said, she knew he was right and that giving kenma a second chance was better for them both.

just as she took out her phone to text him and ask if they could meet somewhere, the doorbell rang. her dad was upstairs now, so naturally she got up and answered.

on the doormat sat a bouquet of flowers, ones that matched her color palette on twitch. a small smile touched her lips as she picked them up, opening the envelope that was attached.

"dear y/n, i know we haven't talked for a couple days but i miss you. i'm sorry for hurting you and i'm sorry for not responding faster when you said you like me. i wanna talk in person, this time i hope i'll actually say what i want to. meet me at the park if you want to talk, if not i understand. from, kenma."

"what a cheese." she scoffed, but her smile didn't falter, "dad, i'm gonna head out for a bit!" she called, getting a quick response before leaving.

when she got to the park it was pretty empty, but she saw a male dressed in a nekoma uniform sitting under a tree and fiddling with his hands.

"kenma," she started, walking up to the male as he jumped.

"i'm sorry," both said at the same time, matching expressions of shock covering their faces.

"why are you sorry?" he asked, watching y/n sit across from him.

"i was too harsh on you." she started, eyes looking directly at his, "not only that but i didn't trust you enough to forgive you even after you apologize. but i don't want to leave you, i want you to be my friend and i want to trust you again." she said, seeing kenma look around nervously.

"thank you, for giving me a second chance." he said, getting the girl to nod, "i want to open up more, i know it's frustrating putting your all into something then getting nothing in return so i want to start off by saying i really like you." he admitted, seeing y/n jump a bit.

"what?" she asked, cheeks heating as she leaned in, "are you serious?"

he chuckled, nodding, "yeah, i was scared of you. that's why i didn't open up or talk to you as much as i should have. i think i started to like you after we streamed a couple times." he said, shrugging and meeting her eyes.

"do you wanna go on a date with me? we don't have to go now or anything, i just wanted to ask." he offered, getting the girl to grin and nod.

"yeah, i'd like that."
