💭Shit what I am doing? Why am I even bothering to do this? He's my enemy - why should I want to give him a present. 💭
Suddenly I feel nauseated, standing in my kitchen with ingredients all around me and that stupid 'cute' half wrapped present staring at me.
"ahh I am an idiot"
Ring Ring Ring
"Sakusa-senpai ....... help"
"What's got you all panicking? Is it that blond middle blocker again?"
"W-wait what....how did you know?"
"You only panic for two reasons and I know volleyball practice over more than an hour ago so I would have gotten a call then."
"Did he do something ?"
"N-no he didn't....it's just tomorrow is his birthday and I don't know if I should get him anything. I mean I kinda already did but I feel stupid. We're not even friends ...hardly teammates at this point."
"Hmm but you want to be....Friends that is.?"
" I guess...Is that stupid?"
"No it's not. I'm on my way to you. I'll be there in 50 mins. I'll help you with the wrapping the present because I now you are horrible at that. You concentrate on the other stuff you are making. And if he doesn't accept it then it is his loss"
"Ok thank you. See you soon"

I woke up to the annoying voice of the idiot that I had the pleasure of calling brother
"KKKKEEEEEEEIIIIIIIIIIIII, wake up! Akiteru shouted
"Get the hell out my room"
"God how are you so grumpy on your Birthday! wake up mom made your favorite for breakfast"
"Fine now get out!"
I groaned as I looked at my alarm clock, great 30 mins earlier than I usually wake up. I got out of bed went to the bathroom to take a shower and dressed for school then heading down to meet my mom for breakfast.
"Kei sweetheart. Happy Birthday! I made you strawberry pancakes and I packed your lunch with fresh strawberries. "
My mom is the best but I know something is up. "Thanks mom but don't we usually do this at dinner time? "
"I know but I not sure I could get off work so I wanted to celebrate with you before just incase. "
"It's ok mom, I'll probably be doing something with Yams or the team anyway. "
"Ok let's eat before it gets cold"
As I watched my mom and my idiot brother smile and laugh I couldn't help but feel like I missed the happy gene in this family. Still it was nice and I found myself smiling just a little bit. Ugh I have 5 mins before Yams get here so I went up to brush my teeth, fix my hair one last time and grabbed my bags just in time for the doorbell to ring.
