Dean's POV:
I got off the Hogwarts express on that one, clear, dark night to find another first year boy staring at me. He was very short and clearly amazed at everything around him. I smiled at him at walked over. I told the boy my name and asked what his was. He said it was Seamus. We followed the massive man (who we soon found out was Hagrid) down to the black lake and the boats that would take us across to Hogwarts. At everyone's first glimpse of Hogwarts I heard a collective gasp. It was beautiful. It's massive towering turrets and just the general size of the castle was so massive and gorgeous, it took my breath away. I was in a boat with Seamus, a curly-haired girl I didn't know (Hermione), a round faced boy (Neville) and a small girl with reddish-brown hair (Susan Bones).
When we got in, I was already talking to Seamus about the amazing castle and it's features we saw along the way. I could tell we were going to be best friends. "I hope we get sorted into the same house," I said excitedly. "Same," said Seamus. Professor McGonagall then told us about how before we take our seats we must be sorted into hour houses. She briefly explained how things work around Hogwarts, like the house points, house cup and how, when we are at Hogwarts, our house is like our family. Then Neville spotted his pet toad "Trevor," sitting in the corner. He called out , the went to grab his toad. He looked up and realised everyone was staring at him. He gulped and said a quiet "sorry" before returning to his place in the group. Professor McGonagall said the sorting ceremony will begin momentarily, then walked off to get the sorting hat.
Then suddenly, a blonde boy in the corner of the group started talking. "So it's true then. What they were saying on the train. Harry potter has come to Hogwarts. A murmur broke out over the crowd and Neville turned to me and said, "Harry Potter?" The boy introduced himself as 'Draco Malfoy" and his two friends, Crabbe and Goyle. As the boy said his name, a boy standing beside Harry with bright red hair and long gangling legs snickered. "Think my name's funny do you?" Draco asked. "No need to ask yours. Red hair, and a hand-me-down robe. You must be a Weasley." He turned back to Harry. "You'll soon find out that some wizarding families are better than others Potter. You don't want to go making friends with the wrong sort." He jerked his head at Ron the looked back at Harry. He extended his hand out and said "I can can help you there." Harry, however, rejected his handshake, saying that he thought he could tell the wrong sort for himself. Professor McGonagall returned and Malfoy dashed back to his spot, glaring at Harry on his way.
I was so happy that Seamus and I had both been sorted into Gryffindor! I just knew that we were going to be inseparable. I was so excieted and, as the weeks passed by, I got to know Seamus better. I found out that he actually liked muggle football and was a fan of my favorite team: West Ham United. He didn't even mind when I put up a massive poster of them above my bed! We were best friends and soon knew everything about each other. We were comfortable around each other and didn't even bat an eye when one of us walked out of the bathroom with a towel around our waist saying "we forgot to bring in clothes."
A few months into the year, I noticed that Seamus started doing that more than usual (that was pretty often though because he's kind of forgetful sometimes) and it was a bit weird because he didn't seem to try and keep the towel up. It didn't bother me though because I had already walked in on him showering when he forgot to lock the door in the bathroom. It was nothing. We got to know our dorm-mates Harry, Ron and Neville and we also met some girls in Gryffindor as well. This year was off to a great start!

RomanceHere is what I think really goes on when Harry isn't with Dean and Seamus. I really like the idea of a Deamus ship so I decided to make one myself. I hope you like it! :)
