The next day i walk to school with Steven since I have nothing better to do. The whole walk there he is on his phone.
"Who you talkin to faggot?"
He laughs looking at me "someone"
I nudge him "oh come on you can tell me please"
He looks at me with his amazing hazel eyes and says softly "Amanda I'm texting Amanda."
"Wait Amanda like Amanda jones, the bitch of the school?" I get a little aggravated.
"She's not a bitch, I know she was in the past but.." I stop him
"She's still a bitch, remember she used to bully you, she's using you because your..your.." I blush
"I'm what Ruby?"
"Uh..smart yeah smart and you have money..yup she's only using you for that" giggles nervously.
"Ruby i really like her and I'm going to ask her to prom.. I hope you are ok with that" he looks at me worried.
"Yeah as long as you are happy then I'm happy, remember you are my best friend" Steven hugs me tightly kissing the top of my head
"thank you Ruby"
I smile trying to hide how i feel inside. Sad, broken maybe dead.
"No problem steven, now.." I let go of him putting my hood up. " let's get to school"
We continue walking, deep down i feel so hurt but if Steven is happy then I'm not going to get in his way, you do that for the people you love right?
