"Look at you! Grinning so hard! Nice!"

A pair of socks was offered to me but Ahli snatched it away from her man's hand, "You seriously not thinking he has no socks of his own?"

"Perhaps it would be a great addition, isn't it?" he grins at us. "Besides, snow hasn't melted that hard."

"That's fine. Got loads of them." I grinned and packed everything up. "Only staying for one night there, no need to bring me a whole closet."

Ali, her blue eyes shining through her white glasses, puts her hand around waist, "I thought you're meant to stay there until early Monday morning?"

"If I remember rightly, they are the only ones," I said. "I can't stay that long, still got some work to finish."

A horn was heard outside Hux's house and I took that as a chance to grab my bag and hung it on my shoulder. "I'll return it as quickly as I could, mate."

"Don't bother. Come on. Tell us what it looks like now!"

Both of them didn't walk me outside and I'm not that expecting for them to come but it's really a great time seeing her around. Hux tries to conceal the astonishment his face omits every time her girl talks and it's really a nice thing to look at.

As soon as I'm on the other side of the door, I've seen Louie standing still, leaning on his car, head down to his phone and slowly murmuring something. "Give me a minute!"

I doubt he puts his head up but I just forgotten my scarf and my kit where inside are the things that Hux told me are crucial every time a person is camping. It's pretty big, almost twice the size of a lunch box but since it's useful, why not?

"Sorry, I came late." he smiled after tucking back his phone.

"You're early!" tawa ko. "I was just getting the bed from Hux when you arrived!"

He took the bag from me and I can see from his face how it was small than he expected. I'm only staying for the night, the more I desire to do the same tomorrow, I can't. Maybe pretty soon enough, if my life is all better, I could do things I like without worrying if I still have food to consume afterwards.

"Great." he simply said and shut the back of the car. We're both wearing a white shirt, like the melting snow around us, but I have my cap worn backwards today. It's owned by my dad and he used to tell me he bought it in Niagara Falls when he's a teen. Good thing I found it from the vault.

"Go in," I jerk my head to the other side so he won't open the door for me. It will be my first time going inside this another car of him. Way bigger than what he always uses but I don't like the rainbow pattern on some parts. "Have you eaten?"

"Yeah. Thank you for asking." did my mouth reek in toast and coffee? Because he didn't buy my answer.

"I haven't. Daan muna tayo?"

I tried to protest but he's quite silent today. I remember when I accepted his offer to be his friend, his weird smile immediately returned. That didn't vanish when he brought me at the mall or at home but today... what had gotten into him? I just stayed in my seat, acting like I'm not that looking forward to what's gonna happen today.

Whilst eating the take-out fast food burger, his phone, currently hanging in front of us, beamed. It stops but a call came in. Louie spat angrily and turned it down. His father's calling him and he looks more reproachful than earlier.

Unable to swallow the harrowing mood, I look at his side view face. "Everything all right?"

Louie jumps a little and nod without looking.
