Today of course is like any typical day.
Boring, boring, tiresome, eh little bit of drama, snor, boring....you get my drift? Well that was until I walked into music appreciation class...why I took this class when all the freak of a teacher talks about is things like Fur Elise or his doomed Marriage to a younger than him female when I could be taking a class where I actually get to play an instrument is beyond me..but as I walk in noticing a bunch of fast pace scribbled writing on the white board I begin to read the board in my head hoping it was something along the lines of 'no class today' but I was met with 'hey guys! For the remainder of the year Mr. Perry will be filling in for me! Me and my wife are on outstanding terms and decided some time together would be beneficial to our relationship! Thank you all for an amazing first half of the year. Love, mr. Jameson' I roll my eyes as I continue walking to my seat in the farthest corner of the room I sat with my headphones in watching as some students took the liberty to read the board and skip class. I hear the bell ring and in bustling though the door is a long haired man dressed in what I say is a more rockers type fit..I wander my eyes around the classroom taking in the fact that it's actually just me alone in the room today "damnit." I hear him say as he looks around the room not noticing me "are you serious?!" He huffs out putting all of his junk on mr.Jamesons old desk "yes very." I say out loud to him knowing I was going to scare him but better that he knows I'm here before giving him a even bigger heart attack if he sees me and I say nothing. He jumps turning around quick scanning the room looking at me as I stand up to gather my things not looking at his face "Hi! I'm so sorry...I thought no one was here I'm mr.Perry! The sub for..." "Mr. Jameson." I say back a bit irritated by his energy as I said before I've had a slow and boring day and I'd like to keep it that way so I don't set myself up for something and walk around with too much energy, "yes! Thank you...and your name is?" I walk down the steps watching my feet and when I finally get down to him at the end of his sentence I finally look at his face....my eyes widen...in front of me is lead singer of journey...Steve Perry..."I'm..y/n?" I say as if I was questioning my own name "y/n! So do you mind telling me if I came in the wrong day or if it's just you or?..." he looked around me at the empty class "You came on the right day...just everyone thought they could skip because last time we had a sub..they never showed up.." I kept staring at his face in complete shock "Oh that's sad..thank you though...um you can stay or go if you want." He backs away towards his desk with back now towards me I have a small chance to finally take a breath, get my head straight, and calm down "you don't happen to be lead singer of journey, right?" I say feeling rather stupid asking "oh..uh well yes." He sits up on the desk looking at me "well not anymore but yes I was!" I look at him confused "wait? What do you mean?" I sit down at a chair at the front of the class "well..things happened and I just felt it was time to go separate ways...that pun was intended..sorry don't laugh at that one." He smiles big and proud at himself giggling at his own joke and I snickered a bit but was still shocked he was in front of me "so explain why are you my music appreciation teacher right now cause this doesn't make sense." I use my hands to speak to him and he just smiles "well..I used to want to be a teacher and I feel I know a lot about music so I just decided why not?" He explains humbly and I still don't get it "so you mean to tell me...you leave journey to be a teacher?" He laughs "a temporary teacher." He quips back "ok but still..." I squint my eyes at him not believing this for a split second "I'm gonna do solo music and wanted to try out a different type job for a moment to gain inspiration for music." I open my mouth to say something but close it just to nod "makes sense." Is all I say and he chuckles "so if we're playing the question game..why are you the only student to stay?" I smile "my day has been pretty boring and uneventful so I was going to stay behind and if no one was in here I was going to catch up on some art homework in peace with no disturbances from the boringness." He nods "makes sense." He says back "don't let me stop you! I'll just be here writing." I nod as I watch him get up to actually sit in his office chair getting out all his things to begin writing.
