The meeting

I sat in the common room of Yogtowers, as far as I were aware, at a large table with Lewis, Hannah, Simon and The boys. On the inside, I felt so excited and star-struck, these were the people who started this all. I had been a part of their journey for 3 years, from 'Shadow of Israphel', through every Christmas livestreams, to now, and now is surreal. The inside of the common room looked even more amazing in person, rather than a few glimpses of it from their various video's. Fan art and shelves upon shelves of different models from games and loot from conventions. It was every nerds dream and I was smack bang in the middle of it.
On the outside however, I looked quite relaxed, leaning back in my chair to take in the room as a whole, even with the fear of saying something stupid while I were drowned in vodka. Computers lined the room too, and camera equipment littered the table in here.
I still couldn't understand, though. How on earth did I land myself in such a place and even more misunderstood, why was I wanted here by the owners of the Yogscast, themselves?
"You look a bit confused" starts Lewis in a quiet voice. With dark circles under his eyes and a glass of water between his hands, you could clearly see that he was also nursing a hangover.
"I'm a bit worried I made a fool of myself last night while Alex here started buying me doubles" I half-joked back, praying to all known gods it wasn't true.
"Quite the contrary actually." Replied Hannah. "I think being the only one not drinking because we had to work today, can remember a lot of what you said, and in my opinion, and now Lewis' and Simon's, it was very interesting." She smiled while looking to Lewis and Simon for confirmation.
"Oh god, am I in trouble?" I trembled, looking to Alex with terrified eyes. Had I said or shown them something copyrighted? Or even worse, my own stuff.
"No, look.." Started Lewis "You're getting this the wrong way. Basically, we were setting up an apprenticeship scheme where we hire 1 person to shadow our work and learn how to run a YouTube business like ours, and we all think that you would be perfect for the position. Now, the pay isn't great but all apprenticeships don't and this is providing you still go to uni and get your degree, but all-in-all, we think you have the talent and the ability to keep up and we want you to take it."
They all sat around me, all of them looking at me. My mouth had fallen slightly open with trying to take all that information in. Me? An apprentice for the Yogscast?
"You're joking." I half-laughed, finally cutting out the gawping. "So what does that involve? Do I just watch what you all do in person? Do I have to take tests? Do all the other staff know?"
Hannah interrupted "okay okay, calm down!" She laughed. "We just wanted to let you know what we thought and that it is yours for the taking, if you wanted it, we can sort all the business crap out another time, I'm sure you're probably as hungover and these two are and would like some kind of nap." She laughed while smirking at Lewis and Simon. Even I could tell they weren't getting any rest any time soon.
"Yeah, I'm not going to be sleeping anytime soon. I have a lot to think over. And I also need to sort out my uni stuff for my induction tomorrow. But I will definitely keep in touch and we can arrange everything then." I concluded, pulling out a bit of paper from my bag.
"This is my email and mobile number if you need anything and, oh god, what can I say? Thank you so much for this, you don't know how much this means to me!" I squealed and hugged myself, before standing up and saying my goodbyes. Alex walked me back to my car and I skipped along next to him.
"I'm so happy you've accepted. Definitely a cause for celebration tonight. I'll be at your door for eight, yeah?" He questioned me. I had totally forgot about him 'picking me up' with all the excitement. The mixed emotions just make my face flush, but I could just pull it off as excitement.
"Yeah, sure! Better be on the dot!" I quipped, opening my car door.
"Oh, it will." He laughed back, before quickly wrapping his arm around my waist and pecking me on the cheek. He then also flushed very heavily and turned on his heel and jogged back to the door inside.
"Seeya, then!" I called after him before getting into the car. I had to take a whole minute just to calm myself down and start the engine.
This day could not get any better.
