Gang Leaders

Harriet POV -

I wake up to see a few messages from our friend group chat, called "gang". We call our friend group the gang for some reason and I'm the leader of course. I ignore the messages, get up and start getting ready for school.

At school

I walk to the entrance of school and see Isha and Ziyi, linking arms.

"Hey guys!" I shout out to them, they turn around smile at me.

"Hello Harriet Samuels." Isha says with a serious tone. Isha always said people's full names when greeting them, it's strange but also quite funny. Ziyi giggles at Isha's words. God, they are so in love.

"What's first lesson? I think I  forgot my timetable today." I ask them, rummaging through my bag to see if I packed my timetable this morning. I soon give up and zip my bag back up.

"We have that science assessment first lesson today, remember? She told us last lesson." Ziyi tells me, obviously tired of me forgetting the lessons.

"Ah, yeah sorry. Lets go, the others are probably there already." We then leave to our lesson, Isha and Ziyi still linking arms.

At Lunch

Janaya POV

The first 3 lessons of the day pass quickly, and me and Harriet have been getting to know eachother more and more. Something I've learnt about her is that she's very talkative, and not afraid to ask teachers anything or ask the people around her.

We were all sitting down in a circle at lunch, eating and talking, and Mia and Harriet playing pool against eachother. Weirdly, Sage isn't with us all, but we all think nothing of it as they don't sit down with us much.

"HA! LOSER IDIOT!! YOU'RE SO DUMB!!! I BEAT YOU I BEAT YOU LOSER!" I hear Harriet suddenly scream at the top of her lungs.

"LISTEN OKAY YOU ONLY ONE THAT ONE TIME!" Mia shouts back at her. They exchange yells and insults for awhile until the school bell goes. We head to our Welsh lesson, really not wanting to go.

We settle down in our seats, this is the class I didn't sit next to Harriet in, but at least I had Isha and Sage next to me. But.. Sage isn't here?

I look to Harriet to see her and Mia talking to these 2 guys in our class, Connor and Theo. I slightly here their conversation, but not trying to make it seem like I was eavesdropping.

"Did you hear what happened to Sage?" Theo asks them quietly.

Harriet replies, sounding confused, "No, what happened?"

"Didn't you see, that Thalia girl proper beat her up, she was on top of Sage, kicking them and pulling their hair." Connor this time says back.

What the hell, who's Thalia?

"For gods sake, why would she do that?"

"We just saw Sage kick them once then get dropped suddenly by her."

Our teacher comes in and Theo and Connor sit down back in their seats, Harriet having a worried look on her face.

Half way through the lesson, Sage comes back into the class, everyone looking at them. They sit down quietly holding an ice pack to their head and focus on the rest of the lesson.

The last lesson goes by like it never happened, I was very concerned on what's happened to Sage, but I'll let Harriet find that out for me, I don't want to get too personal. Just like that, it's the end of the day, and of course, Harriet runs up to me shouting my name.

"Janaya, Janaya!!" She catches up to me and stops me in my tracks. "Wanna come to the park with me, Isha and Ziyi? Just us four? It's not far from here!"

"Sure.. I don't see why not. I have to be home by 5 though."

"That's okay! We all normally leave by half 4, so it's fine, come on!" She grabs my arm and drags me over to Isha and Ziyi, walking slowly and holding hands.

"Hi you two!" Ziyi greets us, smiling dearly. "You ready to go then?" We all nod and make our way over to the nearby park, Harriet still latched onto my arm.

We arrive at the park and Harriet, Isha and Ziyi run off to the net swing, throwing their bags on the ground and all getting on together, laughing.

Harriet POV -

Isha, Ziyi and I were swinging on the net as Janaya sits on the floor next to us and watches.

"Janaya! Come here, join us." I lean back a bit and playfully pat my lap, so Janaya doesn't have to sit and watch us. I didn't expect her to, but Janaya suddenly stood up and made her way over to me, carefully sitting down on my lap, laughing slightly. We all let out our laughs at Janaya's actions, then get straight back to talking.

Lots of time passes as we've played on the spinning pole, me freaking out because Ziyi, Isha and Janaya wouldn't stop spinning it when it was my turn. And Isha doing a whole routine on her turn. The time was 4:28 and we all go our own ways and saying our goodbyes.

At home

Once I get home, I go to shower, at it had been very hot that day, and get into comfy clothes. Once I'm comfortable I see I have new messages from Janaya.
