As the clock showed 4:15, you were worried that he wasn't going to show. You still held out, but your hope was dwindling. You gave a small sigh, getting ready to leave when the door opened. You looked up and saw Peter. He looked around before seeing you. As he walked over you notices he was holding something in his hands.
You gave him a curious look. "I'm sorry I'm late. I rushed over as soon as I realized the time. I wasn't sure what kind you would like." He said, handing a thin, long box to you. You opened it and saw two thorn less roses in the box. You gently lifted them and smiled softly. "Red roses. Cliche, but beautiful. And full of meaning. True love, romance, and desire." You said, grinning at him. You held the rose up to your nose and inhaled the scent.
"You like them?" He asked. You nodded.
"Yeah, they may not be my favorite flower, but they are really pretty." You said.
"Oh, what's your favorite flower?" He asked. You gave him another soft smile. "Chrysanthemums and hyacinth. Chrysanthemums generally mean happiness, love, longevity and joy. But the different colors have their own specific meanings too. Hyacinths represent peace, commitment and beauty, but also power and pride. And they are the sun god Apollo's flower." You rambled. He sat there and listened, smiling at how your eyes lit up with happiness and passion.
"Ah, I'm rambling again, aren't I?" You said, getting embarrassed. "That's okay, I like listening to you ramble." He said. You blushed lightly. "I end up getting curious about what things mean and then end up in a rabbit hole of research." You said.
(This has been in my drafts for forever, and I have no more inspiration for this scene, so we gonna move on. Ik this is super short. I'm sorry. I plan on normal, long chapters again soon. Really soon.)
