Mordechai drove into his garage at what looked like a penthouse.

The sky was getting darker, and all I wanted to do was go home, take a nice shower, and get some rest.

My mind couldn't even process why he had brought me here. It was ironic, really, because he despised me, and for someone of my status, he would never want me anywhere near his place.

"Get out and follow me," he said, not once looking at me.

I glared at him for a few seconds before stepping out of the car. Crossing my arms over my chest, I followed behind him.

We entered the elevator, and I stepped inside just before the doors slid shut. He pressed a button, and I moved to the corner, closing my eyes.

I just wanted to lie down and rest my body.

When the elevator came to a stop, the doors opened to darkness. He walked out, but I stayed still, thinking about pressing the button to go back down.

Then, the lights flicked on. I stepped out and began to take in the space around me. It was breathtaking, luxurious beyond words.

We were in what seemed like a lounge room and it was very spacious. I watched as Mordechai took off his tie before taking out a glass and a bottle of wine. My feet hurt but I didn't want to anger him by perching myself on his couch.

Even though it looked so soft and relaxing.

"Come with me," he said, taking a sip of his wine before heading down a long hall.

I felt like I was about to collapse; my legs were ready to give out beneath me. He stopped at a door, looked at me for a few seconds with a smirk, then opened it.

I stood in the doorway until the lights came on, and I nearly fainted at what I saw. It was an office, with two separate desks. I could tell immediately which one was his, but the other, tucked away in the corner, caught my eye.

It was stacked with documents.

He wasn't serious, he couldn't be. He didn't expect me to actually sit down and sort through documents at this time.

"Are you going to say something about why you brought me here at this hour?" I asked, deciding to break the silence in the room.

"Your punishment. Those documents aren't going to sort themselves. You can take them home, and I want them finished by Friday. Most of them require a thank you letter, so make sure you type them correctly," came his unbelievable response.

"You can't be serious. There's no way I'm sorting through all those files," I said, turning to leave. But when I pulled the knob, it wouldn't budge. I turned around and saw him glaring at me.

"Only I can let you leave, Vanessa, so don't waste the little energy you have left. Take the documents so you can go. I need to get to bed," he said, taking a seat and watching me closely.

"You're so arrogant and cruel!" I shouted to his face.

I hurried towards the desk and shoved some of the files in my bag. There was just too much to carry. Luckily, I saw another bag and I packed them inside and held the remaining in my hand.
