It was Thursday morning and I had to get up at 5:45 to be able to walk to work and get a tea on time. Looking at the calendar it was November 9th. Yesterday was my birthday and I didn't do anything for it. I was officially 23 years old. Wow that's sounds good. I rolled open my closet doors to get dressed. I grabbed my white silk shirt with my black slacks. I pulled out my black blazer and small heeled black pumps. I ran to the bathroom to get a shower going. Stripping down hurriedly washing. And jumping back out. I pulled on my Victoria's Secret undergarments and shucked on my clothes. On my way to my living room I feed my dog and cat, gave they both some lovin then had to leave. On my way out of my apartment building my phone rang in my side satchel purse I dung while chanting in my head 'please don't hang up please don't hang up' I looked at caller id it was Kitty. "Hey uh Kitt I have to get to work or I'll be late. Can you maybe bring me some lunch at about 12ish then a tea or hot cocoa." small pause "Of course south and I'll see you at lunch." All I got was dial tone. She can never end this damn calls properly. My hair was blowing all around my face as the leaves tumbled at my feet. It was cold as hell out in this street. I was about two blocks away from my new job and I was shaking from the cold and nervous as hell. I knew this was a big day I had to be very patient and have to learn a lot today. I know I can do this.
I was waiting on the elevator doors to open to my new job it was 6:50 exact. I was not late at all. I was walking to the doors that I had my coffee accident. I knocked lightly on the door, while waiting on the response. I quickly slicked my hair back into an belly button long, pony tail. I had finished pulling it back and put a band around when a deep voice said to come in. When I pushed the door open once again I kept my head down. I saw stains on the creamy carpets. When I was in and closed the door I looked up. Behind the desk one brother was sitting and to his side was his twin. I still had no clue what either of there names were but I should learn them soon. "Good morning miss I see you are early we like that in our workers. I am Levi and that is my brother Chris." I nodded my head yes. The one who was Levi sat down and looked through some files. I took this time to study them. Levi was the one who spoke at my place the most last night. He had piercing green eyes that reminded me of my hunting days back home. I could get lost in his eyes. The other brother Chris was different he seemed like the quite, mysterious man. He had deep blue-grey eyes. If he was glaring a grown man might just piss himself. Both had the same body build. Both tall, obvious muscles under the crisp, white button up shirts tucked into black suit pants. Both men could have stepped out of a magazine. I stood with my eyes castes slightly downward and back straight. "Yes miss please follow us to your office. You can decorate any way you feel like, but not allowed to paint the walls. You have a laptop in case work needs to travel home. A office a few doors from ours." While talking I was being showed to a room two doors away from there office. Chris stood at the doors then swung them open. The office was amazing. I had never had this nice of a place to work. I had a beautiful view of the skyscrapers and the rest of New York. My desk was a dark oak, with a brand new Mac book laptop. On the wall opposite of the glass wall was a brown suede couch and cream carpet floors. All in all it was great. "Now miss you can stay in here after you complete your fist task for us. Please follow me." I started to follow Levi and Chris out when Levi turned left away from there office and Chris turned right I knew to follow Levi. He took me one hallway over and to the very end of that hall. He opened the door, and I about passed out. "As you can see our last P.A never showed us this and that's why she was fired. We have rules here miss. Such as no whore-ring around the office. Always let us know about appointments and you will have to know us on a somewhat personal level. I need this room to be all filed through by the end of the day in Monday. It shouldn't be to bad. Your lunches are 1 hour long so don't waste them. Good luck come see us when you have finished." "Yes sir. Thank you." I didn't look back at him as I walked straight in out my purse on the floor and got busy. There had to be over 1000 files that were laying out and messed up, not in order, and just a mess. This would be one hell of a day. I slipped my shoes off and got down to the nitty gritty with the door closed. I found a way to old air conditioning and it is broke and the windows do not open. With the room on the top floor and all the heat rising from other offices it was hot. So I was stuck in a small room that read 88* degrees. I still worked on. I could get this done if I worked all day no breaks. I was looking through so me files when I heard an alarm go off, I only took a second to realize it was an ambulance. I walked to the window only to see a accident with a car on a side walk with no one in it. I turned my back to the window and kept working.
I wasn't sure what time it was or how long I had been working. I was sweating like none other and I felt like passing out. I hadn't ate anything or drank a single thing all day. My body was on overdrive I was filing the last few papers in a cabinet next to the door when my body became a lot heavier.
Chris P.O.V.
"Hello Mrs. Stekly, have you seen the young woman who is our new P.A at all today?" I asked the secretary that was at the front desk on our floor. She was 57 and still working hard. "No sirs I haven't seen her come out of that back filing room." "Thank you Mrs. Stekly." I looked over to my brother in shock. That woman couldn't have been in there all day. I glanced at my watch and it read 9:23p.m. The room she was in had no air conditioning, and windows that do not open. Honestly I think she may have left, and she just went a different way out, she can not handle that room. On our way to the back room we heard noises on the other side. I quickly swung the door open and gasped. This room was spotless. The floors looked swept the windows were clean and EVERYTHING was filed. When I saw Sarah she had her back turned to us and she was in the corner. Hands on her knees that were slightly bent. Her shoulders heaved up and down. She had sweat dripping down her neck. She let out a big gust of air before standing straight up and turning around. She was wobbly on her feet and as soon as she tried to balance her self she collapsed on the floor in a heap. "Oh shit!!" I heard Levi breathe out then rush to her. "Levi pick her up and take her to the office. I'll get her some water and we can try to wake her." He shook his head up and swim as he gently lifted her bridal style. He walked by me and quickly to our office. I ran to the coffee area. Grabbed a cold bottled water, some mints and a packet of crackers. Not a lot but could help after she passed out. I got back in my office to see my brother trying to wake her up. Lightly tapping her face wasn't working. I opened the water filled the lid and poured just a cap full on her face to wake her.
Sarah's P.O.V.
I was completely exhausted. I always worked hard at the farm but here it wasn't just physically working. I had to think out everything and where it belonged. My body was screaming for me to stop, slow down, sit down, anything really. I had put the last file in place. I thought I heard the door open but my head was pounding so loudly I wasn't sure. I know it is late really late. It was dark outside. I had my hands on my bents knees. Trying to gasp for breathe. I knew what was going to happen, I knew I had over worked. I was going to pass out and couldn't help it. I stood up straight shakily and turned. I lost my balance and collapsed on the floor. I thought I heard voices but I couldn't make them out I sit knew that I could finally rest.
My body felt like I was floating on water. I knew I wasn't but it felt good. I could feel my temperature go down tremendously. My legs weren't touching anything I was flying. Maybe or being carried was it. I was weightless, my mind told me I needed to open my eyes and keep them open but it felt good to close my eyes. I would wake up soon. My skin on my arms was suddenly plush with a cool leather feel. I felt higher than a kite. Passing out calmed me in a way. It gave me a few minutes rest until I had ice cold water covered my face. I couldn't figure it out I was thinking it out when another small ice water was on me. My eyes fluttered open due to the water or at least I think it was water. I really hoped it was water.
My eyes saw a bright, cream room. I had to squint to let my eyes adjust to the lighting in the room. I looked to my left to see my bosses staring at me. Chris with a bottle of water in his hands, and Levi with one hand reached out close to my face. His other held a bag of cinnamon crisp chips. I looked down at my shirt and pulled up the front as I slowly navies to the sitting position. My body was more cooled off than before. I realized I was in an air conditioned room. If felt so nice I closed my eyes took one deep breath and reopened my blue eyes. None of us talked but I silently reached for the water in Chris' hand. He looked down and quickly gave it to me. I brought it to my lips in record time and gulped half of it down. I was parched. I hadn't realized it until I had the drink in my hand. I lowered the bottle from my lips. "Thanks." I said in a small voice. I wasn't sure what to say. I went to stand from the couch only to have a head rush and stumble down. I squeezed my eyes shut waiting for the impact of the carpet. It never came only a pair of muscle arms to wrap around me. The arms were well defined and shaped. I knew that they had to work out a lot. I looked up to see Chris staring at me, so Levi was holding me. "Sarah. Are you okay?" Chris looked at me as I sat back down out of Levi's arms. I put my head down and shook my head yes. "Okay then why did you pass out?" He asked with his deep, rich voice. "Umm. I don't remember having breakfast, or lunch. And maybe no drinks. I was working to get that room clean and I lost track of time I guess." I said in a rush while shrugging my shoulders. No big deal I passed out from a little overheat. "It's 7:49 at night and you haven't eaten anything today?..... Are you freaking kidding me! Sarah why haven't you eaten. That room was not that important. You could have taken a few days to organize it." Near the end of the speech Chris' voice got a softer tone. Both men looked at me waiting for an answer. "I know that. I just wanted to get it done. Okay? It's not that bad I passed out from overheat. No biggie. I mean, when I set to do something I'm sure as hell gonna get it done. Fast, the right way, and like I was doing it for myself. That's how I am." I said to both of them I stood up and started to walk to the doors. I was on my way to grab my purse and my coat to go home. I was sore all over. My shoulders ached, my feet were swollen, and my eyes were bloodshot. I looked like shit. I got to the small room I cleaned and was happy with my work. I had cleaned everything and scrubbed the desk in there. Once in the office I sat down in the floor and pulled out my pony. I ran a hair through my thick hair. I got enough energy to stand and grab my coat and side sling purse. I was walking to the elevator while pulling out my cell phone. I cringed when I saw 17 missed calls and 23 text. I knew Kitty would be pissed or on my couch when I got home. I pressed the down button and waited.
I had just pressed the button 1 to go to the main lobby. The doors started to close when I tanned male hand shot in between the doors. The doors opened back up and the twins walked in. I looked down at my phone and waited to get out. I felt so small next to the Smith brothers. They had to be at least 6'1 or 6'2 each. I felt so uncomfortable in the tiny box. I was in the front corner with both them staring down my back. "Sarah you can bring things in tomorrow to decorate your office if you like." Levi said to me. Without Turing around I shook my head yes at the ding and stop of the ride down. I quickly walked out to the main lobby that was empty. I looked over at the sound of someone clearing their throat. When I saw the straight blonde hair and I laughed. She was in a pair of ripped jeans and a black sweater with a scarf. "WHAT THE HELL!! Where have you been??!" She was looking like she was ready to swing at me. "Kit I have worked my ass off all damn day so don't start. I am walking home now are you going to my place or not? I don't feel like doing anything but going home cuddling with my pets and sleeping until tomorrow morning. Are you in or not?" I didn't sound pleasant even to my own ears, but at this point I didn't care. I didn't let her utter a word because I turned and started to the door, bracing for the cold air. The slide doors opened smoothly and I shivered. I got goosebumps instantly. I didn't care I stepped out and started to walk while hearing Kitty's running feet behind me. I was on my home to food and sleep.
Levi's P.O.V
I watched as Sarah walked to the slide doors and outside. Her friend that she had called Kitty came up to us looking pissed off. "What have you done to her? She was always happy at her other job. Why is she so stressed out?" This girl was taller than Sarah but looked less intimidating than there new P.A.  "We haven't done anything. There was a lot of stuff that needed filing in a small room. She didn't eat or drink anything and she got overheated. We thought she took a lunch until we came to the room and saw her pass out." She looked at me shook her head yes and turned to chase after Sarah and go home. It took us a second to think to offer them a ride. We walked to the doors and looked to the left. They looked like small specks and they turned down a street and disappeared. I turned to Chris who was watching them until he shrugged and turned to go to the car. I followed him to the car. There was something about Sarah that I admired. She was tough as nails and worked like none other. She was amazing, and so sexy. I knew from one look at my brother that we were thinking the same thing about our new worker. She was going to be ours.
