I quietly pace back and fourth behind a shelf trying to calm my heart before I hear the door creak open followed by the clicking of boots on the hardwood floor, I glance at the clock, exactly 12, so she's incredibly punctual I take a slow breath in and out before standing up straight, adjusting my headband and quietly stepping out from behind the book case.

Her back is turned to me, I clear my throat and she jumps slightly and spins towards me
"It's just me!" I realize just after the words leave my mouth that I forgot my accent but she didn't seem to notice, I cleared my throat one more time "bonjor" she regains her composure before responding
"Bonjor"

I smile walking towards her and grab her hands in mine she should be easy to get under my thumb
"What do you want to learn dear?" The flustered look doesn't quite make its way onto her face but after making a career off of reading hardened gamblers, someone like her is child's play

I can't deny the lump in the back of my throat and how my cheeks feel slightly warmer than usual but the lump must just be the anxiety of being trapped in an unknown place and it must simply be warmer than the rest of the school

"I- I would like to learn some basic phrases I can use" she swallows hard, finally a visible blush making its way onto her face, I nod and release her hands, walking back towards the bookshelf and grabbing a single book off the shelf and walking towards a table

I sit down and the violet haired girl takes a seat across from me
"Let's begin, shall we dear?"
She flushes and looks away before nodding
