Zombie apocalypse au

Summary:
Most of the Population has died after the virus spread all over the world, infecting people and turning them into Zombies. Atsumu and you belonged to the few lucky people that survived.

Warning: Angst and Character death (suicide?)
(Spoiler: Atsumu shoots himself because he got bitten)

Reader is female

"What are you thinking about? You seem so lost in thoughts..."
Atsumu asked, sitting right next to you as the two of you leaned against a wall in some abandoned building.

"Just the first time I met you Tsumu, you now, when the world  was still a lonely place and I thought there was no hope..."
You replied and looked at him, honey brown eyes meeting yours, still holding the same look as they did years ago.
He still loved you as much, his feelings never wavered or went away, a constant in his life since you entered it.
Your gaze wandered over his body, clothing partially torn and dirtier by blood stains, but the worst thing of all...the bite in his arm.

Your life had been a lonely one since the apocalypse started.
How long it's been since you've wandered through the empty streets of Japan alone, you didn't know anymore.
Neither did you know what it was that you were searching for.

Maybe it was the hopes of finding your parents that kept you going, although you were almost certain that they are probably dead, eaten by zombies or starved.
Maybe it was other survivors that you were searching for, but you had pretty much given up on hoping for that.

It was on a cold winter morning that you had met him...
Somehow you managed to drag your cold and stiff body to a little supermarket you had spotted down the street.
You tried to hide from a group of zombies by cowering begind the counter.

Everything hurt, your whole body feeling cold and slowly going limp, you had already lost feeling in your fingers, the cold slowly claiming all of you.
If the zombies don't kill you first, the cold definetly will.
This was it, the moment you had finally given up all of your hope.

You had accepted this to be your end.

Your body slowly slid to the side, colliding with the cold ground.
You felt tired, eyes desperately wanting to close.
Your vision got blurry, slowly blackening as you fought back the urge of your body to fall asleep.
You knew that you wouldn't wake up again if you were to fall asleep now and even though you had given up hope, you didn't want to die, not yet.

BANG!

Was that...a gunshot?

Your once clouded mind was wide awake again, your eyes opening again.
You heard footsteps coming towards you, the zombies? No they don't know how to use guns.

"Kita!" The loud voice of a male cut through the silence.
"I found someone! A girl!"

Someone kneeled down next to you, but your vision was too blurred to see anything.

"Hey, can you hear me?"
He asked with a voice soft as cotton.

You tried your absolute hardest to answer, but your mouth just wouldn't open, it was way too stiff from the cold.

"Listen, we are here to help you, you're safe now! We've defeated the zombies."
The male explained and you slowly lifted up your gaze.
You could see his head, well it kinda like a yellow blur.
He's blonde, it kind of reminded you of the sun, he also radiated this incredible warmth that made you feel less cold.
That was the first impression you had of Atsumu, warm as the sun, and it didn't take long for him to become your sun.
