When it Drizzles
5

Two American tourists  are visiting Kerala.  They are going to stay in Asok’s  home stay.  The whole family cheerfully welcomed them.  Jessica and Ben.  Both are Law graduates. They are a couple.

Usually guests will stay in the home stay only.  But sometimes friendly people very easily get attached to the sweet family too.  That time Archana will make dinner for them.

The very first day Kesav as a guide took them to Fort Kochi beach and Mattanchery Jew spots.  There is a palace too.  The next day they planned to visit Kumbalanghy.  Jessica asked a trip to Munnar too.  Ben insisted to go Alleppy back water.  He wanted a house boat journey.

After the college and Office Anand and Anu joined with Ben and Jessica.  Ben is a sweet person whereas Jessica was not that much friendly.  She would always talk to Ben only.

But still she complimented Anu.

“Anu you are so beautiful.  Your skin is so nice.”

“Thank you Jessica.”

“How do you care your skin and hair?”

Jessica enquired.

“Both I treat with coconut oil only.  Daily I take head bath.  I don’t use shampoo in my hair.  There is a herbal shampoo from hibiscus leaf.  Ammamma makes it for me. On my skin and in my hair I apply coconut oil.  Other than this I don’t use any artificial things.”

Still Jessica continued her doubts.

“Your face has a glow and it looks so fair.  I know there is secret. You don’t have black heads in your nose. Any remedy?”

“Yes, I use powder of orange peels with milk and applies once in a week in my face.  If you have time to apply it daily.  You will get more result.  For black heads, I mix rice powder with water and applies in nose and scrubs.”
Anand and Ben got bored by hearing ladies talks.

“Ladies are all same.  Their main topic is beauty care only.”

Anand complained.  Ben too supported him.

Though Jessica acted like introvert , she showed interest in homely food.

Archana called them for Dinner.

Appam and Mutton stew was the item.  Both Ben and Jesscia loved it very much. Archana specially made it as less spicy.

Jessica asked the recipe of Appam and stew.

Archana explained it.

“Day time you should soak white rice in water for six hours.  Night grind it in the mixie with grated coconut ,little bit cooked rice , two table spoon sugar and yeast.  Make a batter.  And keep it like that for whole night.  Morning, pour the batter in Appam pan and make nice appams.  Don’t forget to add salt before making Appam. Salt should add just before making appams.”

“Ben, I need one Appam Pan. “

Jessica said.

“You don’t need to carry it from here Jess.  You will get it from Indian stores in America.”
