Morrigan smiled as Cadence dragged a brush through her already-brushed black hair.

"Are you sure you don't want Miss Cheery to do this?" she asked, secretly delighted that her friend wanted to help her look perfect, since she usually believed in doing things yourself.

Cadence grabbed a brush off Anah - who was helping Lambeth do her makeup - in reply. The blonde made a noise of protest, but went off to find another brush. Thaddea came, holding a veil embroidered with little pieces of onyx's. Morrigan's eyes widened, and Thaddea rolled her eyes, though she looked quite happy as well.

"Jupiter bought this," she said, looking in wonder at Morrigan's face. "Fenestra told me to give it to you now, and I get why. Cadence, since when did you learn how to put on makeup?"

Lambeth turned around, smiling and gasping. "Morrigan, you look lovely! Cadence, are you going to let the bride-to-be look at herself?"

"Don't move!" Anah and Cadence scolded, the girls they were helping both settling back into their seats.

"Lam's right." Thaddea grinned. "When are you letting Mog see her face?"

Cadence rolled her brown eyes again; giving one last stroke of blush on her cheek.

"Not you too!" Morrigan laughed. Jupiter and Jack really were not joking when they had said that they had taught all of Unit 919 her nickname.

"The others wanted to be here, but they're boys, so..." Thaddea trailed off.

"They're helping Jack," Anah finished firmly. "Don't you dare set unruly ideas in Mog's innocent mind. Nor Lam's and mine, too. You can be as rowdy as you want when you and Cadence are having a girl's night out. The boys are definitely not challenging the guests to arm wrestles and fist fights. They're not you, Thaddea."

The rest of them all giggled. Anah certainly was more protective of them than she often let on.

"I'm finished!" Cadence sighed, turning Morrigan's chair around so she could look in the mirror. Morrigan's breath was taken away.

Her hair flowed behind her back in shining waves; none of it stuck on her face, and not a single strand was askew. She had a slight blush on her face, and her lipstick was pale red. The rest of the makeup was subtle touches here and there, but Morrigan still looked and felt like she was a different person.

"Thanks, Cadence," she whispered. "It's perfect."

"Well, duh!" Cadence rolled her eyes with affection. "I've been practicing for occasions like this!"

Anah put her hand to her mouth in surprise, and Thaddea pretended to choke.

"I didn't see that coming," Lambeth said.

There was a knock at the door, and Thaddea threw the veil in Morrigan's lap, and she hoisted it onto her head. Lambeth and Anah both moved it around as Cadence answered the door, both of them muttering about how it should look. Fenestra, Dame Chanda and Martha were standing at the doorway, all of them beaming pleasantly at the five of them.

"Mog, dear, you look so gorgeous!" Dame Chanda cried. Martha nodded in agreement and Fen gave a grudging nod.

"We have to walk down the aisle now," Jupiter said, striding towards them, his blue eyes sparkling with happy tears. "Jack's ready."

Morrigan stood up, her nerves dancing around her stomach. Everything was going to be okay.
