“Finally, you’ve arrived!” Officer Douglas exclaimed in a rather bitter voice. The two agents walked up to him in front of the massive charred building. The officer sighed; he wished he had followed his father's advice and gone into accounting. Raising a single income family of five on a mall cops salary wasn’t as enjoyable as he’d originally thought it would be, at least, until he’d gotten promoted to a full time officer. But that, in New York at least, involved a seemingly more infinite amount of work than the pay was worth. That was two years ago, and sadly, things weren’t quick going well for him. But finally after all his work a golden opportunity had fallen into his hands, a case that would surely grant him his bonus, or at least a bit of reputation around the office; Annie Child. Then along came the two douchebags of Agents who took his job. Douglas wasn’t very pleased about that, to say the least.

One of the two was a giant. He couldn’t quite tell his exact height, but needless to say he didn’t exactly fit through the building entrance. His hair, while very well cleaned, made Douglas think of his eldest son, Roderick, who was currently spending time in juvie for several major offences. Although his locks, because they were just that long, reminded the policeman of his teenage convict, his suit, much like his partner was very well maintained. The other agent, in comparison, seemed quite short to the Officer even though the federal was taller than him. Unlike his taller friend, the agents hair was quite short and his face had evidence of a botox. Just how much do they pay these guys? He asked himself.

“Special Agent Abba.” Said the tall one flashing his badge like his partner was.

“Special Agent Abba, also. But just for the sake of sanity, call me James.” The other said with a smile. Douglas raised his eyebrows and looked at the two of them with a grin, temporarily forgetting his bitterness.

“Oh, no no no!” Abba denied in a husky yet urgent voice.

“Were not together… Or gay!” James added.

“We’re brothers!” The other insisted, gesturing at the both of them.

“Okay then. Let’s take a look at the scene okay? Unless you two need to sneak off for a moment…?” Officer Douglas asked. This might be more enjoyable than he thought it’d be.

“I think we’ll be fine.” James nodded, obviously annoyed.

“So, on the twenty second of June, roughly three days ago, a fire started burning down this building here at about seven P.M. The blaze lasted for six hours, despite the fire departments attempts to stop it. But that’s not the weird part. Earlier on in the day, a sixteen year old girl by the name of Annie Child committed several murders around two hours previous to the incident, one in a gun shop and the other at a local McDonalds for a total body count of 31 dead. Later on, she arrived to her apartment on the top floor, which she shared with her mother who was recently divorced. We had assumed that they had both died in the fire… Until we saw this,” Douglas reached for a picture he had on one of the nearly burnt out desks.

“Is that her?” James asked. “You said she was sixteen.”

“She is. Anyways, we got this from a camera stationed over there,” He pointed at a street lamp standing over the parking lot. “And then she drove off in a minivan her mom owned. I was about to go check for the liscence plate over at the office until I was told to wait here for you two.”

“Any confirmation on Mrs. Child?” asked Abba, a crease started to form on his forehead.

“Definitely dead; no one could have escaped that fire, except for the girl, but we don’t even know how she did it. Also, when the firemen came to the scene to search for her, her body was already burning. They couldn’t retrieve her due to the fire growing stronger. Other than that, she’s the only one who died. All the others managed to escape in time, some with a few injuries, but nothing deadly.”
