I remember watching this as a kid and loving it, so I thought I would try it out again and it was great! The story was fascinating and some of the songs were quite catchy, like Cell Block Tango, but some of the songs I didn't like and that was a real downer for me.
So yes, it's a musical, but it's about Cabaret in the 1930's and I don't normally like musicals (except Grease and a few others) so for this to get an 8 is an effort in itself.
