Two figures on the moonlit courtyard of the ever-so lively castle celebrating the event.
Contrasting the loud cheers and music blasting inside the castle, the only noises that filled the courtyard were the sounds of the wind blowing by and the rippling of the water from a nearby fountain.
The atmosphere between the two was dark and glum. Disappointment, anger, and a hint of sadness was painted on the young lady's porcelain face.
Tears threatened to fall, but she could only stare at him with absolute helplessness.
Nothing could be done afterall, it had been decided long ago. Only now, did he tell his lover.
"Only now, do you decide to tell me? How long has it been when it was decided?"
The prince only looked back with a sad smile.
...
The two shared a long silence before the princess decided to finally break it after what felt like hours.
"I'll.. be heading back inside. I can bet my parents will be looking for me." She muttered quietly before she turned her back on the prince.
Regret, sadness, pain, and other unknown emotions flooded the prince as he sadly watched the lady he fell terribly hard for, walk away from him.
The things he wanted to tell her were infinite, but they just piled up in his throat. It was like his voice was being suppressed by some sort of unknown force.
...
Before the princess could vanish from his sights, he ran towards her quickly grabbing her arm before it could make it to the door of the palace.
He grabbed both of her arms and looked her in the eyes.
"My dear princess, before I head out, may I share this last dance with you?"
Fin.
