Now I'm one of the nerdy girls at Pinewood middle school, I wear glasses, hide my face behind books, and my homework is always early. Maddie Ziegler and Kendall Vertes have always made fun of me for it. They're the popular girls at Pinewood they've got Gucci purses, Louis Vuitton book bags, and binders and pencils covered in Swarovski diamonds. They're boyfriends are both on the football team and they're both star players. What a good life right?
Ever since fifth grade everybody stares at me when I walk through the hallway I hear whispers and light giggles, my face heats up with embarrassment. Why me?
"Hey bookworm!" Maddie yells with sarcasm while I'm pacing through the hallway.
"Shut up..." I murmur under my breath.
"What's that four-eyes?" Everyone giggles at that one.
"I SAID SHUT UP!" I shoot back with frustration.
"Woah. Take it easy Lake I was just joking." She says with her hands up in surrender.
"IT'S NOT LAKE IT'S LUKASIAK!" I say with tears I my eyes.
