"Hey! Don't got into the water." A familiar voice said.
"Why not?" I asked. I turn around and I saw Noah running towards me. He looked so hot while he was running.
" There's a riptide!" He said as he grabbed my hand to pull my stubborn body out of the ankle high water.
"A wha?" I asked
"A riptide."
"What's that?"
"A riptide also called a rip current," Noah explained. "It's a current that pulls you further and further into sea. People drown in them."
"Oh, beach terms aren't really my area of expertise. I moved from Tennessee. I just got here yesterday."
"So you never surfed?" He asked.
"Ah hell no. Plus sports aren't really my thing." I said. Noah laughed.
"Did you ever find your lil sis?"
It was like a sudden grey cloud emerged. It reminded me about the nightstand, the ugly room, the panic attack, and mainly the disappointment of both of my parents. I sat down to avoid him seeing the tears in my eyes. I looked away and drew tiny circles in the sand with my finger.
"Yeah we found her." My voice was shaky. It was obvious that I was crying. I still hoped he wouldn't notice
"Are you okay?" He asked as he sat down beside me.
"No." I murmured. He put his arm around me. At that moment I knew he cared, I knew he would listen. I started about telling him about Tennessee and explained everything up to present time. I explained how I'm known as an "overdramatic grouchy teenager".
"You need to be more adventurous Ivy" he grinned, "Meet me here tomorrow and I will show you how it's done."
"Ok." I smiled back at him.
