Chapter 9

"Hold me so I won't fall again. Please."

Julia~

"528 S. Fullverd Street please," I told the taxi man.
He nodded and started driving. From the hotel it was a 10 minute drive. 10 minutes from my mother, my brothers, and my father. As the time ticked away the taxi pulled up in front of my house. I thanked the man and headed up the drive with my suitcase. As I got to the porch steps I remembered.
(Flashback)
As I saw her get out of the black car I bursted into tears. I ran down the porch steps only to fall on the last one. She came over laughing at me but hugged me tighter then she ever has. We stayed like that for hours just talking and catching up. Ashley was home from tour. Sadly she would be going back, and soon she wouldn't be talking to me anymore.
(End of flashback)

I smiled at the memory. Ashley my best friend since birth. Ashley the girl I told and trusted with everything. Ashley the girl who ditched me in the end and left me. Ashley the girl I used to call my best friend. Leah, Katherine, Maggie, Miranda, Kenzie, Tiasha. The girls who wanted nothing to do with me after Magcon. The girls I called my sisters. I was left with Dev, Maya, Mandy, and Reyna. The girls who stayed with me forever, the girls I left heart broken when I was Emma. As I sat on the porch steps facing the door I heard a car door close behind me. I stood up and turned around. My mother gripped the car door as she looked at me. We made eye contact as she started bawling.
"Julia," she sobbed.
"Mom," I whispered.
Tears fell freely down my face as I ran into my mothers arms. She hugged me as tight as she could as she sobbed into my hair.
"Julia," she repeated.
"I'm here mom, I promise." I whispered to her.
She continued to sob as Riley and Ryan got out of the car.
"Ryan," I cried hugging him.
He held me tight as he cried. I pulled Riley in as he started to cry as well. I kissed their heads while whispering sorry over and over. My mom watched us sobbing.
"Where's Lucas?" I asked.
"College," Ryan answered.
I closed my eyes and cried as I remembered my big brother went back to college. I wasn't even there to say goodbye.
"And dad?" I asked looking to my mom.
"He's back at war," my mom spoke.
My hands found their way up to my face. I sobbed more then I ever had. All I wanted was Cameron to hold me in his arms right now.

My mom didn't ask questions, she just embraced me all night long. Tomorrow I would surely get the beat down. As I got tired I went up to my room. As I said goodnight to my brothers and mom I opened my door. The same blue curtains, bed, and lamps were all in place. Nothing was moved. A few posters had fallen off the wall but everything looked untouched. I ran my finger tips against the wood desks and dessers. My window had the Magcon logo still on it. I walked over and ran my fingers across that too. I opened my window hoping to see Dev right across, but she wasn't. Instead boxes were stacked high on her bed and all over her floor. I sighed and walked over to my pictures. They all carried memories, some I didn't want to remember. I jumped into my bed and breathed in the scent of home. I set my phone on the charger and looked up at the ceiling. I wanted Cameron to be here laying with me right now. I wanted Cameron to hold me. I wanted him to whisper calming things in my ear to help me sleep. I wanted him to cry on. I wanted to ask him a million questions about what happened to my friends and where were they now. I got so into thought I didn't realize my thumb hovering over the dialed number. I had dialed Cameron's memorized number. I looked at my phone and took a deep breath. Sure it was late in London but he would be up. Surely Matt told everyone by now. My heart skipped a beat when the phone started ringing.
"Hello?" His morning voice asked.
I couldn't speak. The words got fumbled in my mouth and I couldn't say anything.
"Hello?" He asked again.
"I-" I said.
"Yes?" He asked again.
My lip shook as I cried.
"Julia," he breathed.
My heart stopped beating when he said my name.
"I still love you," he whispered.
"I'm sorry," I whispered back.
"Where are you?" He asked.
I didn't say a word.
"Julia please tell me where you are. I need to know you're alive!" He panicked.
"I'm safe Cam," I told him.
"Where?" He asked.
"I'm home," I whispered back.
"Wisconsin?" He asked himself.
"I'm sorry," I whispered again and hung up.

Cameron~

"Next flight to Wisconsin please," I told the lady.
She nodded and handed me the tickets.

We were all going to find Julia.
