Falling For You

Breakfast

You were tossing and turning all night. You finally fell asleep around 2 and, after a short 4 hours, you would have chosen death over getting out of bed. Today was your first day of training with the scout regiment. You had wanted to join since you were 13 years old and had received the news that your father was killed on a scouting expedition. You wanted to honour his memory and make sure he didn't die in vain and now 8 years later, you are officially a scout.

"Ow Sasha what the fuck?" you cursed at your roommate and then rubbed the spot on your forehead where she flicked you. Sasha was standing over you, wiggling her index finger at you, threatening to flick you again. Sasha was your roommate and your best friend. You loved her like a sister, but sometimes, like sisters, you wanted to kill her. This was one of those moments.

"Get up! I'm starving!" she groaned while chewing a bread roll with her mouth open. You remained bundled up in your blanket and rolled your eyes at her, "You are literally eating right now. And why can't you go to breakfast by yourself?" you asked.

"I'd never got anywhere without my best friend! And where my best friend is, there's a second plate of food for me!" she grinned. She started to shake your body and you groaned loudly. She was shaking you so hard that your bed was thumping noisily on the floor. The door slammed open, and your close friend Eren entered while covering his eyes.

"Umm guys, it kind of sounds like you two are fucking in here." he said uneasily.

"Who's fucking?" Jean asked excitedly while poking his head into your room. You and Sasha started laughing and she threw a pillow at them.

"We could have been if you perverts hadn't barged in." you joked. Eren removed his hands from his eyes and wiggled his eyebrows at you.

"Well, let me know next time if you want an audience...or participants." he teased. You knew Eren had a thing for you for a while now. Pretty much since you two met three years ago. You hated the idea of hurting him and you wished that you reciprocated his feelings, but you just don't see him that way. So, for the last three years you just put up with his obvious attempts at flirting and trying to get your attention. Regardless, even if you did like him, Mikasa would probably slit your throat.

"Come off it Yeager, if they're choosing anyone it's me!" Jean punched Eren's arm. The boys continued to bicker until Sasha cut them off.

"You guys are cutting into my breakfast time!" Sasha grumbled and shoved the last bite of bread into her mouth.

"Uhh isn't that what that is?" Eren said, gesturing to Sasha's mouth.

"That was my early morning snack. I still need to eat breakfast and half of Y/N's breakfast." she said with a mouthful of bread. You got out of bed, pushed the two boys out into the hallway and shut the door.

"I guess I'm up now." you groaned at Sasha. The two of you changed out of your sleepwear and into your uniforms.

"Alright let's get you some breakfast...since you're starving and all." you chuckled while linking arms with Sasha. You and Sasha walked through the halls of the scouts' headquarters until you reached the dining hall.

"I'll go line up for food, you snag us some seats." Sasha said before running off to join the breakfast line. You looked around the room until you spotted your friends and fellow 104th cadet corps graduates. Eren and Mikasa were sitting on one side of the table while Armin, Jean, and Connie were sitting across from them. As soon as they spotted you, they gestured for you to come over. As you approached the table Eren patted the seat next to him and said that you could sit by him. Mikasa looked down at the table and bit her lip. She knew that you had no romantic intentions with Eren, but that didn't stop her from being hurt by his overly flirtatious gestures towards you.
