"madison, would you care to tell me, which cardigan makes me look fatter; navy blue or black?" kalani hilliker precisely stated, grasping the hem of the fitted threads, giving a little turn in the two-way mirrors.

kendall and maddie, sipped quietly on lounge chairs in their favorite store, "lush com" as they round finished their banana cream smoothies from the good court.

chloe couldn't make it, something about never missing sunday church camp, while they had already lost kamryn to the smoothie guy, gross, but got their smoothies for free thankfully.

maddie had always wanted to be honest, especially with her friends, not that lying would get her out of this, but the majority of the time, how could one little lie hurt.

could it?

"na, you look great." she choked out, no one in hell would she ever call kalani, or anyone fat, but you could say kalani should have went for that cream colored blouse on the hanging rack by the entrance.

the big sunday after the hangover disease had fully left all of the recovering patients, (minus a bawling kendall vertes, zack already changing his 'single' status to 'in a relationship" less than what, 6 hours?)

kalani had called in an emergency day to their favorite hangout spot, "coveside mall", aka the best place to get the hottest new trends, smoothies, shoes, and, your latest hookup.

aka, kamryn's motherboard.

not that maddie had ever found one before, just she usually turned down the ones that had dared to ask, including the guy from the surfhop store across the foodcourt and the twelve yearold outside selling lemonade.

not that maddie cared though, it was usually how it went, guys were just never interested into hyper-obsessed brunette fan girls like herself, and also, considering the fact that she was in a group with kamryn beck and kalani hilliker, what do you expect here.

truthfully, maddie hadn't even been paying attention at all. she was way too busy refreshing and refreshing the link online, that was selling josh hyland tickets in less than 6 minutes and 32 seconds, to the dot.

in her defense, neither was kendall, who was angrily typing the type of words your-mother-wants-you-to-hopefully-never-pickup to zack, who we could all tell didn't give a shit.

maddie needed to get away from this madness, she couldn't take one more second of kalani's obsessive burberry addiction or kendall's breakup messages, she just needed her tickets right now, she'd negotiate with her mom later, she'd probably just bring mackenzie or someone.

"just gonna head to the bathroom, be right back" she whimpered, already was waddling out of the store, never the best actress but not the worst.

"okay, but make sure to be back for when we get to the matching shoes!" kalani called back, but obviously to invested in grabbing as many colors of this patterned sundress as she could.

2 minutes left, gritting her teeth as she stood near the little girls room, she wasn't actually going to go in if that's what you supposed.

the red time clock in big bold letters taunted her, she needed these tickets, and fast, doubting he'd ever go back to murrysville again before his next album release and tour, which was freaking next year.

each second she wasted, more and more time flew by, more and more possibilities of not being able to visit her idol, made her want to hide out in a stall and cry.

this wasn't her first rodeo.

giving up, she knew she couldn't break down like this, not in front of this many people, she'd just tell kalani that her stomach hurt or something, basic excuse but she was desperate.

sighing, she glanced down at her phone, getting into a distinct game of flappybird, which she's somehow manage to not deleting even though there was countless of times she'd wanted to.

i don't know if it was her foot and distraction, or his lack of sight and clumsiness that maddie as she turned the corner, ended up, sprawled across the floor with a throbbing ankle as a stranger wearing a flannel and black raybands on top of her, most likely rip offs from a gas station.

"what the hell, watch it" the blonde boy yelped, scrambling to his feat, not even bothering to help the girl up,, he had places he needed to be and people he needed to see. the last thing he needed was another groupie on his plate.

just as maddie got her phone, which was slid under a bush from the fall, the time had already run out, so had the tickets, so had her luck.

her eyes turned cold with rage, her fists clenching, staring at the stranger, she hoisted her right leg up, kicking the poor dude right in the groin.

"fuck you, and your cheap sunglasses"
