When she finished singing, she began running away.
"Nana! Wait!" I yelled.
She stopped and yelled, "What?!"
"Who says you can't?" I asked.
"I-I don't deserve someone as good as you, Zane. I'm a monster, even worse than Aaron, a liar, I thought I could hide in another identity. I've kept secrets all my life."
"You may have hidden some things, but, you know... what does it even matter?"
"Your safety, of course. One small trigger and you could be injured."
"That may be the case, but I will accept anyone you choose to be, you'll have my support no matter what. Even if people fear you, let them fear you, because you'll know that I won't."
"Zane... mm, thank you. You're the best. But... I-I can't, for your safety I-I need to go, I need to go before it's too late." Nana said, starting to walk away. I grabbed her arm. She looked back, tears welling in her eyes.
"Nana, you're not going anywhere. Not on my watch. You're not leaving."
"W-Why?"
"Because I love you."
"Zane, I-I-I love you too. But I meant what I said."
"I know you did, but every single one of us needs you in different ways. Katelyn needs you for stability and having someone to talk to, Aph needs her shipping buddy and someone to have fun with, you help Aaron control his temper (and I know he can help you back), and Lucinda needs you for a little bit of rivalry and laughter, and I need you, you're my other half. I have no idea what would happen to me if I didn't know you. I'd probably be an idiot, drinking drugs, crashing cars, speeding on the highway-" I explained.
"Okay, okay, I get it. Everyone needs me, but seriously if I hurt them in the process, everything could go completely wrong, and everything that happened with Aaron, history will just repeat itself, you know, part of it already has."
"Nana.."
"I'm sorry... Goodbye."
"No. You're not leaving."
"Z-Zane please."
