As Asriel carried Kris back home, he held him closely and carefully. First of all, he knew Kris had a head injury and didn't want to shake him too much, but, more importantly, Asriel knew this was the last time he would ever be doing this. Having Kris so close right now was VERY important to Asriel, and he wouldn't trade this moment for anything right now.
But, of course, he arrived home, and had to put Kris down. So he gently placed him on the couch, and then realized that no one else was home. They must still be at church, Asriel guessed. He looked at Kris sleeping peacefully on the couch. He envied him. He was so oblivious to everything that had happened. Asriel was glad he was. The last thing he wanted was for his brother to feel guilty about what happened. There was no way Kris could have known what was down there.
Asriel figured he might as well do something while everyone else was gone. He smiled. Why not make Kris some brownies for when he wakes up? He would love that!
Asriel pulled out all of the ingredients and started happily baking.

Sans didn't like this place. It was too bright, too hot, and too... well, it was hard to put it in exact words.
Sans had spent most of his life in the lab. It was very rare occasions that he would leave for anything, and he never much appreciated those times. The lab was nice, comfortable, and predictable. He liked when things were predictable, because then he didn't have to think about them too much. Which was good because he was too lazy to think about too many unnecessary things .
Regardless, the one he was supposed to watch went inside a building, so Sans figured he should follow him. Sans quickly peeked through the window to find the perfect hiding spot. He saw a good looking chair, and teleported behind it. He would have much rather teleported ON to it, but that would blow his cover.
It seemed like this Asriel guy was baking something for the passed-out human. This started to make Sans wonder if all sets of brothers had one that tried to cook.
Sans kinda felt bad. These two seemed really close. But, it wouldn't be the first time they've torn apart a family, and it certainly wouldn't be the last, so Sans chose not to think about it too much. It made things a lot easier.
Gaster had been excited about getting Asriel for a while. Something about his soul being stronger than others or something along those lines. Sans was still a little confused on the exact details of what was going to be done with him, but was pretty sure that Asriel wouldn't be around the lab for long. Gaster had some sort of plan to put him somewhere else. Sans just had no idea where yet.

The brownies finished, and as soon as Asriel took them out of the oven, Kris began to stir. He must've been able to smell them. That's when the door opened.
"Asriel!" Toriel said as she walked in. "Where have you and Kris been?!"
"Sorry mom, we-" What was the lie again? Asriel was having a hard time remembering.
" What happened to Kris?" Asgore asked with a panic in his voice. "Is he alright?"
"No, he..."
"Kris!" Now it was Toriel turn to panic. "His head is bleeding! We need to take him to the hospital!"
Asriel hadn't noticed until now, but sure enough, Kris was bleeding. Asriel felt a bit of anger rise up inside of him. Kris was supposed to be unharmed! That was the deal! But there was nothing he could do but try to help for now.
Due to all of the chaos, Kris woke up completely. "W-what's happening? Do I smell brownies?"
Asriel smiled, and even laughed a little. Krus was so oblivious to how much danger he was just in! "Yes, Kris. You do smell brownies. Would you like some?"
