Dear Little Ruth,
I have decided to write you a letter to comfort your little fragile heart.
I'll start here.
My father told me that he used to write letters to my mother whenever she's down. It's always helpful for her to decrease her exhaustion. My father loves to write and he keeps using it to express his love to his wife. When I was so little, father would always check us before he would go to sleep. One midnight, I was having a fever and I couldn't sleep. So I went out my room and knock on my parent's door.
Father asked me why I was still awake. So I told him my situation, he immediately get some medicine and let me lie down on their bed with my mother sleeping. My mother instinctively woke up and she saw me next to her. Of course, as a mother, she was concerned about me. She was worried and took care of me. But the moment father saw my mother awake, he immediately closed his white notebook and keep it.
I got curious about the white notebook so I tried to figure out what he keeps writing in it. I found out that father would always let my mother fall asleep first. Other than being our protector, he also writes letter to my mother every single night. He keeps writing love letters to be particular. It is the most precious thing in the world. His love for my mother.
Father told me about the letters. His purpose of writing is to carry it with him whenever he has to be away from us for a long period of time. In his journey, he would always read his love letters to remind himself how he loves my mother from the bottom of his heart.
But before he leaves the house, he would always put a letter in my mother's closet. He didn't tell me the content and purpose but he said that those letters are the most special, the words he wrote in there are only between him and my beautiful mother.
He also taught me how to write.
So I am writing to you because I want to make your heart hopeful. I am not pitying you because of your illness, but with compassion as your friend, I want to encourage you.
I hope that this short story of my sweet parents enlightened your day.
