Hugs

She loved hugs. They made her cold heart feel warm, made her feel sheltered and protected. They made her happy because people held her close to their heart and she could fool herself into thinking that they might actually care for her.
She was hesitant to let anyone touch her. To let anyone hold her, when she knew it meant so much more to her than it did to them.
So she smiled as she wrapped her arms around his waist, a sad sort of smile that she knew he couldn't see. She was wrapped in his warmth and smell, but she knew it wouldn't last long, and she dreaded the moment when she would be forced to let go.
