You may not know me, but I am a new writer, H. Richey. I have written this prologue to set the mood for the stories you are about to read.
A note, when reading these stories, please read the stories as if YOU are the main character, for nothing is scarier than our own demons. For instance, when the characters in this story are describing themselves within these scenes, please imagine it's you I am writing about.
This may help to add a little bit of eeriness to the stories. This is my first published book, and I do hope you enjoy it. A new story will be added to the collection each week in October 2021, hence the title "4 Scary Stories for the Dying Season" I named it this because October is associated with falling leaves, death being prepared for the brutal and cold winter months.
So, without further ado, please sit back, enjoy, and prepare to finish your reading with a sense of uneasiness.
