3:45 am
I'm finally here. Standing on the beautiful beach. The sun is rising and the tide is still pretty high. Everyone is barely waking and the crisp air feels cool and thin. Everything seems perfect.
"West?"
I turn around and see her. Terra. She's in this thin lace night gown. And her long black hair is flowing behind her.
"WEST RUN!"
She's suddenly screaming and telling me to run. She's desperately shoving me to go forward and run. I look down and see blood in her hands.
"Terra what are you doing? What's happening what's wrong??"
"GO! KEEP GOING RUN!!"
She's beginning to cry and I'm really scared. I want to leave and take her with me but I can't move. I'm frozen. I start to panic as soon as I see her dress painted in dark red.
"TERRA WHATS HAPPENING TO YOU"
"You didn't help me"
A deep voice replied. It's not her anymore. It's not her angelic self. It's someone else. Someone I know all too well.
"TERRA WHERE ARE YOU. COME BACK. WHATS HAPPENING"
"You didn't help her. You left her. Your a horrible person. She's dead"
She's dead.
She's dead..
She's dead....It kept echoing. Louder and louder and louder. It was deafening.
"TERRA!!!!"
I screamed as loud as I could. I open my eyes to see I'm no longer in California but back in Washington.
I was in Forks. It suddenly started to pour rain."YOU DIDNT SAVE ME. I COULD BE ALIVE IF YOU HADNT RUN AWAY!"
It's terra again. I turn to my left and see her, her night gown drenched and burgundy red with blood. She starts sprinting towards me. I was afraid at her expression but once again I can't movie.
"YOU KILLED ME WEST"
"TERRA!!"
I jolt up breathing heavily and pooling in sweat. I'm in my car. And I see its 4:15 am. I sigh.
"Another nightmare."
I say to myself. This was the third one I had tonight. And the fact that all of them started in California, terrified me. I don't want going to Cali become a bad thing. Or maybe it's just the opposite? I don't know. But I do know that I'm not turning around. I'm so close to the state line and I'm not changing my mind now.
Since it's already 4 am, I decided to start driving again. I stopped at a truck stop to rest for a while. They have showers here so I'm gonna go take a quick one before I leave. I'm soaked in sweat so I don't want to be so smelly.
I walk into the gas station store and asked the lady at the counter for a number and shower token. Since there was only one other guy there, the waiting time wasn't long. I quickly washed my hair and scrubbed my body down quickly and got out. I changed into an old flannel and some blue jeans.
Before I left, I bought myself a hot chocolate and a glazed donut. I need something to wake me up and, surprisingly, coffee makes me sleepy. I opened the back doors to my van and cleaned up. I folded my "bed" which is really just three blankets and two old pillows. I hopped into the driver seat and my van roared to life.
I wanted to see what I could find on the radio, so I flipped through channels until I found my favorite station. It plays classics from soul to pop to alternative rock. A song had just ended when I switched the station on and the radio caster began to talk.
"Gooood morning everybody! It's Smooth Steve here bringing you the hits all the way from the stone ages. Haha! I'm just kidding these songs are classics. Anyways, I was thinking since we are only two short days away from the month of June lets play some summer songs. But what do we think about when we hear "summer"? First thing to pop in my head is long nights and blasting music. But for all of you dreamers here is the smash hit from The Mama's And Papa's."
California Dreamin' began to play and I instantly laughed.
"What a coincidence..."
I said to myself. This is one of my favorite songs and how weird that I had just dreamt about the one and only. I shook the eerie feeling off of my shoulders and began to scream the lyrics.
"ALL THE LEAVES ARE BROWN
AND THE SKY IS GREY!
IVE BEEN FOR A WALK
ON A WINTERS DAY!ID BE SAFE AND WARM
IF I WAS IN L.A.
CALIFORNIA DREAMIN'
ON SUCH A WINTERS DAAAYY!!"I sang and bobbed my head to the song. It really got me excited to cross the state line and finally arrive. I'm currently in Arizona and by the looks of my map I'm only about an hour away from the state line. I'm making great time!! I'm hoping to settle down there. I'll look for a small job and I'm most likely going to have to live in my van for a while. Housing, I heard, is incredibly expensive. Even for an apartment. So I hope I can stick it out.
I was moving further and further away from Arizona so the station changed into a really stupid rap station. I turned off the radio and popped in a Nirvana cassette.
*1 hour later*
I'm pulling into the patrol check station and there's quite a few people here. A policeman walks up to me and asks for my drivers license. He eyes me suspiciously and then hands me my drivers license back.
"Are you a legal US citizen?"
"Excuse me?"
"Just answer the question sir."
"Yes I am."
"I'm gonna have to see a birth certificate, social security card, and I.D."
I take out everything he asked for and he stills seems unsure. I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Being Mexican means being either a nice tan or super dark. And I'm in between so it makes them suspicious. It's stupid how racist these cops can be. Sir, if I give you an authorized state drivers license then I think it's common sense that I am an American. Sheesh. I could be pale white and be an immigrant from Ireland. I wouldn't have any identification in my name or anything. But sure enough he'd let me through because I'd be whiter than a marshmallow.
"Okay I'm gonna have to check your van for any unauthorized drugs or weapons."
"Go right ahead sir."
He walks to the back of my van and opens the doors. He calls over an officer with a police dog to check if I have anything. Pathetic.
He comes back to my window opens my car door.
"Please step out of the vehicle with your hands behind you head."
What?
"What? Why? I didn't do anything wrong!?"
He grabs me by the arm and throws me down on the floor.
"PLEASE DO NOT RESIST AUTHORITIES. PUT YOUR HANDS ON YOUR HEAD"
I immediately put my hands on my head. I'm really scared I don't have anything and I didn't do anything wrong. What's happening!?

Anyways, here is chapter two to the new story and I hope you all enjoyed it. The picture of the van is there to give you an idea to what his West's van looks like. You guys can visualize it to be any color or model you'd like! And if you have trouble viewing the YouTube video, just look up "California Dreamin" on YouTube and click on the one by The Mama's and Papa's. It'll look like an album cover.
